I attempted SEVERAL times to have the Stellantis/Chrysler/Jeep 'Z46 - High-Pressure Fuel Pump Failure' recall repair performed on my 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit Platinum 4X4 EcoDiesel. The 'Z46' recall was issued in JUN 2022. Yet over ONE YEAR LATER each time I inquire about performing this recall repair the Jeep dealer advises that "there are no parts available to perform the recall repair". I submitted a complaint to Stellantis/Chrysler/Jeep Customer Assistance and asked that the problem be escalated. I received no response or further follow up to that complaint submission. I need to sell the vehicle in the next 30 days but cannot sell the vehicle due to the open Z46 recall. I am suffering economic injury as a result of the Jeep dealer's inability to perform the Stellantis/Chrysler/Jeep 'Z46' recall repair.

Jeep issued a recall for the high pressure fuel pump on our 2018 Grand Cherokee about a year ago and a redesigned fuel pump by Bosch is still not available. I am unable to travel out of state for fear that the fuel pump will fail possibly causing a crash or leaving me stranded at my own expense. Why have a recall if the manufacturer can just ignore it and start discontinuing the product which Jeep has started to do at the beginning of 2023. Repeated attempts to get service from Jeep for the recall have resulted in the message no parts available. What is NHTSA doing about this recall?

2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee with 55,575 miles was parked in a parking garage all day in Brooklyn NY and when the vehicle was move to the front of the garage by parking attendants the engine started smoking and caught fire. There were no leaks, dashboard symbols or open recalls to cause the fire; additionally the car was linked to a iPhone App CarRx that can scan for any issue and no issue noted. This engine fire not only put all of the other vehicles in the park garage at risk of catching fire but the parking garage sits under a luxury apartment building putting the working and residents at risk. Additionally I commute between Brooklyn and NJ 3x a week and cant imagine what would have happened if I was driving the vehicle over the Brooklyn Bridge, on the Brooklyn Queens Express or in the Holland Tunnel during high commuter rush hour traffic. Car was checked out by a Jeep Dealership who confirm fire was not caused by any leaks or electrical issue but did mentioned it seems to have started around the engine air cleaner. The current status of the issue has been an open investigation with Jeep Corporate for going on the 3rd week with no communication or updates on status. The entire issue and fire from pulling into the garage to the when the car was moved to it smoking and catching fire is all documented on security video.

There is an electrical failure that causes the blinkers to stop working, shortly after noticing this issue the vehicle will fail to start after travelling to my destination. This has happened more than twice and there are no recalls shown for the "Limited" version of this vehicle. The standard edition seems to have confirmed recalls for the same issues that the Limited version is experiencing. A mechanic has described an electrical short circuit. I encourage looking into the different models of the 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee in which you'll definitely find the same safety issues described online by many others. These repairs need to be addressed and repaired by the manufacturer. Thank you!

October 31, 2022 - Check Engine Light came on. Autozone gave me the P0456 code - Small Leak in Evap System. The check engine light went off a week later. Continued to come on/off for the next 2 months. I was able to finally get an appt on 1/9 and took it into San Diego Jeep Dealership on Camino Del Rio S. They charged $500 for diagnostic even though I had the code already and replaced the Purge Valve & Hose. On 1/14 my car engine would not start at all. On 1/15 my car engine started, I went to drive and within a block my car shut off on me and I coasted to the side of the road while it threw a bunch of different errors including electronic stability warning. I came to a stop and then all of my windshield wipers randomly started going off, my horn randomly started going off, and the lights in my car started flashing. I pressed the push start button to try to turn it all off. I then got the error meesage that my front left headlight was out, it now is, alos my left blinker now doesn't work properly. I tried to start the car again, no luck. I called a tow truck, the tow truck guy was able to get my engine to start. I explained that my car shut off and asked him to follow me for a little while. I got 2 blocks and came to an stop sign where I idled and my car engine shut off on me again. I had my car towed back to the dealership that did the work. On 1/16 they told me it would be $700 for an electrical diagnostic. I did not have any major problems or warnings before taking it to the dealership.

I bought my Jeep Grand Cherokee in the end of February 2021 with approx. 52,000 miles on it. All work done to it after this point has been under warranty with me paying all of the deductibles for the warranty work. A couple of weeks after purchase, the problems began. It was overheating, white steam coming out of my exhaust pipes, vibrating very badly, shutting down at traffic lights, amongst other symptoms. As of now, the dealership has replaced 3 new water pumps, and 2 new cylinder heads (both times were issues with the 3rd cylinder). This go round, it-??s now back in the shop with another misfire with cylinder 3. The dealership has also replaced the EGR Cooler, Ignition Coil, Motor Mounts, Coolant Flush, Lifters & Rockers & it is still in the shop. All repairs done by the same shop (different technicians throughout the past year and a half). I thought it might qualify under the lemon law and called an attorney who asked me some questions but said that it does not qualify in my state under the Lemon Law because it-??s now past the 60,000 milestone. It now has approximately 85,000 miles on it. I have been without a vehicle approximately 6 months out of the past year and a half and multiple rental car fees (though the dealership absorbed the majority of the fees when it was in the shop this past June/July). A few of the reasons all of this is most upsetting to me: - My daughter and I have broken down on the side of a busy interstate twice (once in the middle of the night) and had to try to get off of the interstate safely so we could be towed - I have been faithfully paying my 'new-to-me' car note ever since I bought it but haven't had much of a chance to drive my 'new' vehicle - My daughter recently got her driver's permit & can't learn how to drive as we are in a rental & it is against the rental company policy to allow anyone else to drive their vehicles. - I have had to take off of work MANY hours due to this This is holding up our lives!

My pre-owned 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4x4 Trailhawk is unsafe and unreliable because the vehicle ** would not start ** on three occasions within 18 months of ownership. Also, the "auto start" feature on the key fob works intermittently. Thankfully, I was in safe locations when the problems occurred, but two of those locations were in public, away from home. Also, the dashboard has indicator lights that come on randomly such as engine or start/stop or "check air suspension" or check ABS. The dealer has not been able to find or diagnose the problem, yet I keep paying out of pocket fees. My problems would occur with no warning, so there would be no time to get help. I contacted Chrysler on 8/8/22 and they were no help; they just directed me back to a dealer to pay another out-of-pocket diagnostic fee. They expressed no concern for my safety, did not acknowledge my frustration, and said a supervisor was not available to speak to me. All recall work was completed prior to my owning the vehicle. I do not trust my own vehicle and I need to travel frequently through desolate and arduous terrain. I am likely going to get rid of the vehicle because (1) I don't trust Chrysler or government systems to help me in the timeframe that I need help, (2) I need to do my job and have a peace of mind, and (3) I need to know that I and my family will be safe.

The vehicle stalled while driving on a busy road. It sounded like it couldn-??t shift gears. It also accelerated once I tried to move it to a safer location on the side of the road. It was very scary not knowing if I could get out of the stalling situation in the middle of traffic. The unexpected acceleration upon trying to park it safely was also terrifying.

There are numerous safety issues with this vehicle. The most concerning is electrical/fuel/engine relating to the TIPM. The vehicle intermittently refuses to start. The integrated fuel pump relay in the TIPM fails. This has left my wife stranded in potentially dangerous areas. It has also died while the vehicle was in motion. In addition to the TIPM issues, the digitizer of the factory radio/navigation system has delaminated from the LCD screen. The safety issues this causes are multiple: random phone calls while driving (distracting), random radio station changes (again, distracting to a driver), and an inability to properly utilize navigation (potentially dangerous if it tries to change a route and indicates last-second turns). It also prevents the driver from calling someone if they are in need of help. Not only does hands-free calling not work, but even when taking out the phone to dial, the haywire behavior of the device being connected via bluetooth makes calls difficult. These are known issues by the Jeep dealer with frequent warranty replacements admitted by the advisor and technician, yet they have been zero assistance in helping because the vehicle is out of warranty. It will require action from someone like the NHTSA to get Jeep to correct these problems for many owners. It is criminal to charge people this amount of money for a vehicle that simply doesn't do what it is supposed to do.

I purchased my 2018 Jeep Cherokee right off the dealership lot in Lynnfield MA in August of 2018. I then have had on going issues. Starting with strange squilling sound coming from back of vehicle, this was never found reason by technician but they replaced engine air filter jume 2020, then my heater wasn-??t working in dec.2020, replaced motor blower with wheel, then may2021 my vehicle just shut down as I was driving on the highway to work at night no prior warnings beforehand, lucky no one was hurt towed in and no start and transmission was stuck no fuel pressure, dtc related and shorted fuel pump. Replaced module fuel pump level unit. Now just October 29,2021 my vehicle is not starting I jumped the battery and lights come on but vehicle won-??t start. Dealership I purchased vehicle from won-??t contact me back so I towed the vehicle to them and still no response. I-??m very disappointed in Jeep I don-??t feel safe or that my vehicle is not dependable and for all the money I keep putting into it I should have a dependable car.

The contact owns a 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated while driving 55 MPH, the vehicle inadvertently stalled and lost electrical power. The message "Check Your Transmission" appeared on the instrument panel. The contact stated he veered to the side of the road and was able to restart the vehicle after 20 minutes. The contact continued to drive the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who diagnosed that no issues were found. The contact stated that the failure reoccurred while driving. The vehicle was taken to a second dealer Normandin Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram FIAT (900 Capitol Expressway Auto Mall, San Jose, CA 95136) who diagnosed that the alternator and water pump needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure reoccurred several times while driving with the vehicle becoming overheated. The vehicle was taken to a third dealer Huffines Chrysler Jeep Dodge RAM Plano (4500 W Plano Pkwy, Plano, TX 75093) who could not determine the cause of the failure. The contact referenced NHTSA Campaign Number: 18V524000 (Electrical System). The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 13,500.

We have experienced 2 separate episodes of this vehicle suddenly becoming disabled with complete engine shutdown while driving at highway speeds. Both episodes occurred abruptly, engine idling extremely rough, then shutting down within seconds, leaving the car completely inoperable. Both episodes were very dangerous as the car could barely coast to the shoulder of the highway for safety of the passengers. The first episode occurred when the car was a few months old, gas gauge showing over 1/4 tank of diesel gas. Car was towed to the Jeep dealership where they claimed that the car simply ran out of diesel (despite the gas gauge indication) no repair "was required", car filled with several gallons of diesel and OBD codes reset by the dealer, car then ran normally. The second episode occurred one week ago. Again driving at highway speed, 5 lane highway, over 1/4 of diesel remaining on the gauge, sudden violent engine running, sudden full loss of function of the vehicle, nearly in an accident simply trying to " limp " to an emergency stop on the road shoulder. Car required towing to our residence. with the prior experience at the Jeep dealer, despite gauge reading of greater 1/4 tank, the car was filled with 5 gallons of diesel, car started normally. All OBD fault codes insufficient fuel to the engine, fuel rail, fuel pressure, etc. The car has run normally since. I contacted my Jeep dealership and they stated they have no knowledge of any similar issues with this Jeep Diesel engine. The internet and Jeep car forums are filled with identical Diesel engine problems. Either related to faulty fuel pressure regulation or some design fault with fuel level indication affecting the safe operation of this Jeep Diesel engine. these problems date back to pre 2008. We now feel very unsafe to drive this relatively new 2018 Jeep Diesel Grand Cherokee at highway speeds without hovering near the shoulder lane of the road.

On our way to the grocery store, I turned onto the highway and began accelerating. Suddenly the engine shuts off and random messages pop up on the display. The "D" on the shift indicator was blinking telling me to put the vehicle into park to restart. Steering and braking were impaired as i tried to get the vehicle to the emergency lane. Numerous vehicles at highway speeds had to make rapid maneuvers to avoid hitting us. After coming to a stop and putting the vehicle in park, I restarted the vehicle. The engine light was now on and there were numerous messages coming up on the display. There were also random electrical occurrences as well, rear wiper running with switch in off position. This was a very dangerous situation. Had the individual behind us not had room to maneuver into the adjacent lane he would have impacted us for sure. This seems to be a known issue that needs to be addressed. As this incident just happened i have not a chance to contact a dealer yet. There was no warning prior to the incident. We have had no issues with this vehicle to this point save one, and I do not know if they are related or not. But randomly for a few months prior to this incident, the vehicles radio/control console would freeze up becoming totally unresponsive. It will eventually reboot itself and begin working again. Sometimes after one restart and other times it takes several restarts after varying lengths of time being frozen. The frequency of these occurrences seem to be increasing also. If this was just your radio controls it would be annoying enough, this is your control center for everything. Have not addressed this with the dealer yet as well. I will be contacting my nearest dealership this week.

Just purchased 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee from bulk dealer. The engine consistently stalls while in drive (at red lights, stop signs, intersections) causing safety issues and near MVAs. During stall, the AC continues to blow but air is not cold. The VIN# shows no unrepaired recalls, but the vehicle is behaving exactly as described in recall U87. It still has some time on warranty but I'm not sure how to proceed here. This is certainly unsafe.

While driving about 10 mph in my neighborhood, the engine abruptly cut off. The "D" on my dash began to flash. Steering was difficult and braking was difficult. The car just coasted. I was able to pull the car over to the side of the road and put it in park. Then I was able to restart the car. If I had been on a highway or a busy street, this would easily have been an accident. My 8 year old son was in the car. Now I'm scared to drive the car. I have called the dealer to have them take a look at the vehicle. Seems this is not just an issue for me. A lot of other 2018 Jeep have had this issue. A car that randomly shuts off while it's being driven is a horrific accident waiting to happen. Hopefully something can be done at the dealership. Another issue with the car that may be related or separate. The radio in my center consol turns on when I start the car. Then it freezes and shuts off. Then it turns itself back on and freezes and shuts off again. It goes through this process several time before it will turn on, stay on, and function properly. I am told that it could be that the car needs an update. I am also told by the dealer that the update could result in the car needing an entirely new radio.
