The contact owns a 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated while driving 55 MPH, the tailgate opened independently and without warning. The dealer was contacted and notified of the failure however, they had not received a callback. The contact also attempted to notify the manufacturer of the failure; however, the call was disconnected after each attempt. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 56,000.
