Within months I have had all four of my window regulators break in my vehicle and all four windows fell completely into door. Two of the times I was driving down the road when window fell. Very expensive to repair already repaired one, now all four broke. Cannot get window to go back up. My extended warranty which I paid alot of money for does not cover these expensive parts. How many complaints does it take before making this a recall.

2004 Jeep Liberty. Consumer states regulators for the rear power-windows regularly fail, causing the windows to fall into the door panels at which time they cannot be closed. The consumer stated since 2006 he and his wife have experienced the problem a total six times, three for each rear window. The consumer stated the driver side window fell into the door panel while his wife was driving on the freeway. The is now the seventh incident. Updated 10/20/11.

2004 Jeep Liberty, rear driver side electric window drops down into door, jams door lock, runs down battery-all due to a tiny plastic part breaking repeatedly. I paid to have this fixed in 10/15/08 ($205),read on internet all Jeep owners all models with electric windows having same problem. So, did not use window or door ever since. Same clip broke and was replaced under warranty 9/18/09. Still don't use door or window. Same clip broke again 10/25/10. No longer under warranty so dealer won't repair. Called Jeep corporate. They refuse to even consider working with me or explaining what they will do until I get "an official diagnosis" from a Jeep dealer which will cost me $94.50 to get. Only then will they even talk to me about this problem. Everyone is having this problem.a tiny plastic clip into which the fuzzy cable connects gets worn over time and breaks. No rocket science there, take a thin piece of plastic and put metal against it and even if not used will vibrate if you drive the car and it will break. Costing Jeep owners big time.first time it stranded my daughter in the middle of the night, jamming the door and running down the battery as electric window kept trying to engage. Now it is sitting in my yard, cannot secure my car as windows is down inside door, and have plastic over window to keep out the rain. This is ridiculous. Case # now with Jeep is [xxx],case manager casey, 1-800-763-8422 but like I said, until I'm willing to pay $94.50 for "official diagnosis" of a broken ten cent part, they won't tell me if they will work with me at all or to what extent. Only that without the diagnosis, nothing can be done further. First time it broke, sitting in driveway. Second time I pulled up in parking lot and exited front door when window in rear door crashed down inside, I hadn't even touched the door. This time broke in parking lot, no one in car. Window just falls down into door. Costing Jeep owners big time, you have to change entire window regulator, Jeep won't sell clip.

2004 Jeep Liberty. Plastic bracket on window regulator breaks. Have replaced both front and back door regulators. From internet postings - appears I am one of several thousands with this problem. Chrysler dealerships want to replace entire piece along with window. $500 repair over $4 plastic bracket.

My 2004 Jeep Liberty continues to have problems with the door regulator. This is the fourth time it has happened and Chrysler will not recall the defective part. The glass on the door will slide down, and the window will not operate. This has happened twice on the highway and it is very dangerous. The repair cost is approx $500 each time this has happened. It keeps happening to the windows that I have even gotten repaired already. The dealer stated that it was a defective part, they changed the part and now they are going back to the original as that one was no better. So even though I am getting the windows repaired, it continues to happen to all three of the windows. There is only one that it hasn't happen to.

I have owned my 2004 Jeep Liberty for since November of 2003. Since that time I have replaced the rear window regulators 6 times. Now that my extended service contract is running out, I contact Jeep and was told that they would consider helping me on an incident by incident basis. I don't understand why this isn't a manufacturing problem and should not be addressed by the company. I have $600 invested in this problem and don't feel that I should have to invest more of my hard earned money for a manufacturing defect.

The contact owns a 2004 Jeep Liberty. The contact stated the rear windows suddenly fell down due to a broken regulator. This occured while the vehicle was parked in a parking lot. The contact stated this has happened six times. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer to have them replace the regulator. The manufacturer had assisted the contact with the cost of the repairs but the contact stated the repair is not remedying the problem. The dealer informed the contact the regulator is made of plastic and it melts due to the heat and that's what causes the regulator to malfunction. The failure mileage was 110,000.

While driving through congested traffic on the highway, the rear window of my 2004 Jeep Liberty made a grinding noise and unexpectedly fell down inside of the door, my dog nearly fell out and I nearly caused an accident while pulling over to safety. My family and I had to drive 45 minutes in the rain with no rear window. I have since learned this is a very common problem with power windows in the Jeep Liberty years 2002-2006 and there is even a company that stays in business selling replacement parts specifically for this problem (www.steigerperformance.com/products/SP13001.html).,

I bought a 04 Jeep Liberty for my son. The driver's window went out immediately after buying it. Research showed thousands of occurrences of this happening to people everywhere. The nylon support bracket is not strong enough to perform its designed function and breaks over and over again with no recall from Chrysler. This is a safety issue and for that reason Chrysler should issue a recall and fix this problem. Chrysler seems to be just getting rich off of fixing their badly engineered window regulator at the consumers expense. I am sure glad the government gave them bail out money but when will they accept responsibility for their poor design and recall this window regulator bracket. In my case, only the nylon support bracket that supports the window to move up/down the track is broken. This is a shameful way for a car maker to handle a problem that is obviously a design flaw. Some Agency needs to force Chrysler to own up to this and help the consumer get what he paid for - a vehicle with power windows that work as designed.

11 months ago my driver side rear window regulator broke and I had to have it fixed. They said it happens because of the heat. Fine, I forked out a few hundred dollars and a few hours of my time. Then yesterday I got into my car and sure enough the window was down, when I tried to roll it up and nothing happened I immediately called the dealership. They set me up with an appointment for this morning. They said it happens all the time and Chrysler is aware of the problem, but is not doing anything about it, rather they are making more money off of the customers in the repairs. There are thousands of complaints about this online, and now this is the third regulator my car has had, with no guarantee I won't be back again next year for another.

I have a 2004 Jeep Liberty and on 4 separate occasions have had the driver's front and rear windows fall into the door unexpectedly due to a failed window regulator. On two of these occasions the window failure occurred while the vehicle was in operation. On all four occasions, the dealership charged me $325 to fix the window even though they admitted that it was due to a faulty part because I was no longer under warranty. The rear driver window has failed on 3 separate occasions, each time, within less than a year of having the regulator replaced at a Jeep authorized dealership. The service manager at my Jeep dealership has admitted to me that it is a faulty part and that the right thing would be if Chrysler were to issue a recall for the parts.

My 2004 Jeep Liberty has had the same broken window three separate times. The regulator inside the window motor is poorly designed and snaps. I have just read hundreds of complaints on the internet about this and several other people said they filed a complaint as well. The window basically falls down, and it could have easily shattered all over my three year old who was sitting beside this window. Now it is 100+ degrees here and I have to try to unsafely rig this window so it doesn't fall and break. Chrysler will give an estimate of over $500 to fix this. This is the third time. Something needs to be done to fix this issue and now.
