Driving down the road window fell down into the door and the window was closed and I just feel down. Very dangerous.

The first incident, I got into my car and the front passenger window was down. I tried to let it back up without success. I took it to the shop and had it replaced. A week later that I was driving, and started to hear air around me, and noticed my front drivers window was slowing dropping into the door. I had that fixed and a few months later it dropped again. I had it fixed by means of having a 2 by 4 placed under the window because I could not afford a shop. Now, back here at the end of October, my back passenger window has dropped in and I now have it boarded up.

In December, 2011, the front driver's side window of my Jeep Liberty fell suddenly while I was driving the vehicle. The sudden and unexpected occurrence nearly caused me to lose control of the car. I felt fortunate that I was driving when this happened and not one of my children. Had I been an inexperienced driver, the sudden shock of this occurrence would have caused me to lose control of the car. I taped the window up and continued to drive it. Two weeks later, the rear window on the driver's side suddenly and unexpectedly fell. At that time, my dog nearly fell out of the car. In the spring of 2012, after driving around with taped up windows for four months, I took the car to a Jeep dealer. The repair cost me $850. This past spring, the same thing happened with the window on the right passenger side. I have been driving with door stoppers shoved into the window to hold it up. Hope I don't have to worry about a grandchild falling out! I have been researching this issue on the internet and there are thousands of complaints about this very issue! the problem appears to be a cheap plastic part in the window mechanism. Many Jeep Liberty owners are saying it is not worth fixing their windows anymore, because they fix them and then the windows just fall again and again and again. Why is this not seen as a safety issue? I work in the public health sector and this is most definitely a safety issue!

Simply rolled up my window then it stopped and window fell down. Took off the door panel to examine and the cable still moved but made a lot of noise and window didn't move. This is the second time I've had this issue. I replaced the rear passenger window regulator when I purchased the car and now that one is messed up also. The one that recently broke is the front right window. Also my head lamp is showing issue with not coming on and I've already tested the stirring column switch.

I rolled down my passenger window and when I went to roll it back up it would not roll back up. It just kept sliding down. I had to buy a suction cup to keep it up until I could get the part to fix it. Since then it has happened to my rear passenger and rear driver windows also.

The rear driver's side window fell out of the track; I tried rolling the window up but nothing happened. This is the second time the window regulator has broken. Apparently, this is a common problem with older Jeep Liberty models and from what I have read, the regulator is made of plastic instead of metal and the part is made to break often. I am tired of fixing the problem again and again!

Jeep window regulators are defective. The driver's window made a loud noise and fell into the door. Estimated repair at the Chrysler dealership was $300 - $400 for a small plastic piece. Within six months, the remaining three windows regulators have failed and all windows are now held in place with a plastic zip tie due to the high cost of repair/replacement and Chrysler's refusal to accept responsibility for faulty design or below standard equipment. Being unable to open the vehicle's windows is definitely a safety hazard for several reasons. Certainly do not want to be pulled over and not comply with an officer's request to roll the window down - and if you open the door instead of rolling the window down - that will be perceived as a threat to the officer and only lead to a bad situation. There are so many Jeep owners with the same complaint, please investigate this matter for the safety of all drivers since Chrysler is ignoring their responsibility.

In March I tried to roll up my front passenger window and it made an awful sound and then dropped all the way down. I took it to the dealership and they said the cable broke and it cost me $300! a month later the same thing happened with my back drivers side window and another $300! last night I was pulling into my garage and went to roll up the front drivers side window and wouldn't you know...the same thing happened! 3 windows in 6 months is absolutely ridiculous! Jeep needs to recall this and fix it and I need my money back! I have been reading reviews and this is a common problem with Jeep Liberty's. I guess they used cheap parts and break all the time according to other Jeep owners. Please have them fix this issue asap!

We have had repeated failures on all of our window regulators since we purchased our Jeep. The first occurrence was in 2006. I would have to pull our repair file to get the other dates. We currently have another window out, it is taped up to keep things out. This is the window in the back behind the front passenger seat. This has already been replaced. The replacements don't even hold up. We are senior citizens. No one "plays" with the windows. We use our ac so windows are not opened and closed. They just fall down on their own. We can not afford to keep replacing the window regulators. The dealer said he thought there was a recall on this because it is such a big problem, but I don't see anything here except window regulator complaints. When are they going to take this problem seriously?

June 13, 2013, third window regulator to fail within one year on my Jeep Liberty. Failed window regulators are front left and right windows, and left rear window. Very frustrated and disappointed with Chrysler and how they are handling a known issue. After speaking with several employees and manager at the Chrysler dealership. They have told me that Chrysler is aware of the defect but they are unable to repair the failed window regulators at no cost to me. Therefore I continue to drive my Jeep Liberty without any working windows which presents a safety issue in the event of an accident. I have no way of getting out of my vehicle and it's an inconvenience to pull up to drive thru without being able to roll down my windows. Chrysler, I'm sure you have heard this complaint many times. I would greatly appreciate if you would take care of your customer base and do a recall on these window regulators. Thank you.

January 8, 2013 good morning. It was very annoying when my passenger's front window dropped inside the door. It was and wasn't okay when the problem first arose. I was very concerned. I immediately took it to my dad to see what he knew about it or could do. He went to the pick and pull junkyard and got a plastic replacement window to hold me over until I could get if fixed, which I did about 3 weeks after the problem occurred. The problem occurred on January 8, 2013 and I got it fixed on January 29th, only for the opposite front drivers window to do the exact same thing two days after I got it out the shop. Well this time, my dad placed a 2 by 4 to hold it in place. And now only about 2 months later March 28, 2013 my back passenger window has suffered the same faith. Back on February 5, 2013 I took my car into the Chrysler dealer because they contacted me about a recall, and at this time I explained my incident to them; they stated they had maybe a few concerns about the window regulator, but that it wasn't enough to raise an eyebrow about. I understand why that would not be an eyebrow raiser. In less than 3 months, I have had 3 of my car window to just drop inside the door of my vehicle and the dealer doesn't think that this is call for a recall, or send out notices to Jeep dealer and work on the responses received to then determine if this is a major issue or not" very costly, and inconvenient especially when the incidents occur at different times. I would like to get some feed back, answers, shares on this matter, anybody" I have also been browsing the internet to find out if anyone else has experienced what I have, to see what their outcome was. Since this car was purchased it has given us problems with the power windows. We replaced on which in less that three months it was broken again. This was very expensive at this time all four windows are broken. I have to put wood in the doors to keep glass from falling. None of the windows can be opened and no sense in fixing due to the cost and they break down again.

The contact owns a 2004 Jeep Liberty. The contact stated that the front passenger side window opened without warning. The vehicle was taken to a dealer. After diagnosis, the contact was advised that the window regulator failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. Joining in the large numbers of Jeep Liberty owners, I purchased this vehicle January 2012 with approx. 86000 miles. The driver's side passenger window was already inoperable during negotiations and dealer repaired. Within months, the driver's window failed with the same problem, which has been a thorn in the side of many who own(ed) this model - weak plastic part involved in the window motor, causing the glass to fall into the door and difficult, costly repairs. Chrysler has not been made to help the consumer in the history of this wide-spread issue. Please consider action? the cost to repair each window is not inexpensive.

I got into the car, started it, and the back left passenger window dropped. I bought part number 68059647-aa regulator 2303900 for $167 on 7/2/2010.to repair the window. 2/20/2012 I had to replace the driver's side window regulator as it dropped the window and would not function. I bought part number 68059645-ab regulator 23039005 for $182. Since then the passengers' side windows have also failed. On 9/28/2012, the back left window regulator failed again. I might accept 1 window regulator failing but not 4 or 5, if you count a second failure. What gets me is the fact that the back windows do not get a great deal of use. I believe they've been used maybe 10 times since I bought the car in 2004. For a second failure, when the part has not had but 2 uses (to check that the window was operational), is ridiculous.

Rear driver side window slipped down inside the door. Unable to secure the vehicle. On 07/01/2012 front driver side window slipped down inside the door. Again, vehicle was parked and unsecured. These parts are expensive in addition to the labor cost to have the repairs made. Inability to secure the vehicle is a safety issue and weather conditions could cause additional damage to the vehicle. Note - during the first few months I owned the vehicle in 2004, the driver side window regulator motor failed and was replaced by the dealership.
