Difficult not having AC that works. The cost to repair is not affordable. This is on top of all of the other issues, specifically the window regulators.Without AC and windows that break continuously, it is dangerous to drive, especially when it rains. The windows get foggy and it diminishes visibility.

August 2012 Ac stopped blowing cold air. Had it recharged and a week later had to replace the whole ac system at only 40,000 miles. The ac still didn't get as cold as it should. Fast forward to July 2013 and same problem. Ac would work for a few minutes then blow hot air. Finally diagnosed a switch needed to be replaced because it was shutting down the system. Lets see if this works??? All of this comes after having the windows replaced four times. I'm afraid to put the windows down all the way in case they won't go back up!

Two weeks ago I began hearing a rattling problem under the hood of my 2006 Jeep Liberty. I took it to a Mechanic to find out where the noise was coming from. The Mechanic checked under the hood of my Jeep. He said the Compressor was failing. There were weird noises coming from the belts.
Today while I was driving my Jeep it began to smoke. I stop at a local restaurant to check under the hood. The Compressor area and the belts were smoking. The metal part of the Compressor was fire hot. I was able to drive the car to another Auto repair shop. The Mechanic told me that my Jeep needed a Compressor and the noise was from the bearing and the Compressor would lock very soon.
As I was driving my Jeep home the engine started smoking again. I pulled over to another restaurant to look under the hood. The same thing was happening again. I tried to crank my Jeep but it would crank. The Jeep would try to start but wouldn't turn followed by a clicking sound like the Alternator. I called a tow truck to tow the Jeep to my Apartment. I tried one more time to crank the Jeep. It clicked on more time and I continue to turn the key in the ignition switch. Finally the Jeep cranked and I was able to drive to short distance to my apartment. I cancelled the tow service.
What I want to know is HOW IN THE HELL A COMPRESSOR GOES OUT IN A 2006 JEEP LIBERTY. 2006 JEEP LIBERTY HAS TOO MANY PROBLEMS AND SHOULD BE RECALLED IMMEDIATELY. THE 2006 JEEP LIBERTY IS A PIECE OF CRAP. I REGRET THE DAY I EVER PURCHASED ONE. I'M STILL MAKING PAYMENT ON THIS PIECE OF JUNK AND I DON'T HAVE THE MONEY TO PAY FOR A COMPRESSOR. I'M NOW STRANDED AT HOME WITH A 2006 PIECE OF CRAP PARK OUTSIDE OF MY APARTMENT. RECALL 2006 LIBERTY IMMEDIATELY BEFORE SOME IS SERIOUSLY INJURED OR KILLED BY THEM. I ALSO HAVE A PREVIOUS POST ABOUT THE REAR PASSENGER WINDOWS FALLING OFF TRACK. I STILL CAN’T AFFORD TO FIX THE WINDOW. SHAME ON CHRYSLER!

A/C will not work when it is very hot outside. This is extremely difficult for us because both our front window regulators are broken. This is HELL!! We are both retired and cannot afford to fix it, so if we need to travel any distance we travel at night or early morning, or just stay home!.
