Liberty

  • 58,600 miles
I have a 2006 Jeep Liberty crd. The egr failed at 17K miles. It was replaced under warranty. It failed again at 52K miles, I paid for that replacement. Now the engine is plugged with carbon from the egr system. Each time there is a failure of the egr, it will eventually cause the engine to suddenly "loose power" and run as if in a "limp" mode even thought the obd diagnostics fail to acknowledge such. This is a big problem with this vehicle that Chrysler will not acknowledge. It causes air pollution and a safety issue as the ability to operate the vehicle normally is greatly hindered without warning. Consumer is asked to pay $2,300 for a temporary repair for the factory's poor design.
