Driver Front Lower Ball joint failed. Recalled ball joints were replaced in 2006. Spoke to Chrysler in 2020 about both lower ball joint boots being deteriorating and ball joints worn and rusty due to failure of recall work but refused to redo recall due to age of vehicle. Vehicle has less than 100k miles. Ball joint failed when turning from stop sign. Loud pop was heard and grinding from drivers side wheel.

The contact owns a 2006 Jeep Liberty. The contact stated while exiting a parking lot and going over a small speed bump, the vehicle inadvertently lowered to the floor. The contact noticed that the ball joint had detached from the wheel. The vehicle was towed to a tire repair shop where the vehicle was diagnosed and the mechanic stated that the front suspension lower ball joint had separated from the wheel. The dealer was contacted and stated that the vehicle was not included in Manufacturer Safety Recall: F23 (Lower Ball Joints). The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and stated the vehicle was not included in Manufacturer Safety Recall: F23 (Lower Ball Joints) and advised to contact the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was 118,000.

The front lower ball joint on the passenger side broke in half which caused my tire to completely separate from the car. Luckily it happened in my driveway, but I had just gotten off the interstate going 75 mph. After replacing it, a closer inspection was done on both upper front ball joints and the driver side lower ball joint. All need replacement. It was a near miss crash, but mine and others safety is still on jeopardy because I can't afford to replace all of them. I haven-??t received any recall information in the mail from the manufacturer.

The rear lower control arms on my car are about to break. One has holes all the way through. At 40 mph, vehicle shakes in back. Issue also causes stability control to malfunction. No Jeep dealers that I can use will make appointments before 06/27 even after being shown the terrible condition of the parts. Nor do they offer a loaner car. I contacted Jeep themselves and was offered NO manner of accommodation or compensation. I drive for a living, so I can either risk my safety, or give up two weeks income, and job, waiting for Jeep and it's dealers to fix defective equipment. If Jeep and their dealers are unable/unwilling to fix dangerous recalls in a timely manner, they should either afford customer a rental car, or offer to buy the vehicle at market value. I would have accepted either, and not filed this complaint, had I been offered.

2017 passenger ball joint broke Driving about 25mph, no injuries No recalls were found, towed, repaired 2019 driver side ball joint broke Vehicle was stationary in a wait line at restaurant, no injuries No recalls found, towed, repaired 2021 Christmas night, passenger ball joint breaks again Speed was 60mph, minor injury occurred without medical attention. Haven't been towed or repaired yet.

My back rear control arms/suspension/alignment were recalled, I had them replaced. Now My front control arms/suspension/alignment are very unsafe to drive. Wobbly, unstable, loose, noises, screeching. It Feels like it-??s going to break/snap/fall off. Yes my vehicle is available for inspection. I feel unsafe on turns especially. It could snap at any moment and my Jeep could roll injuring me or others. I had a tire/allignment center check the status. No warning lights or messages. The sound and issue has been going on since I got my jeep recall fixed. The dealership hit the front of my Jeep in the parking lot and still has not taken responsibility for their actions and damages done to my Jeep. It was evaluated from Jeep-??s body/auto shop estimating at outer damage 1,500$ + and they have not inspected the damage caused to the control arm/suspension/alignment from the employee hitting me Jeep into something moments before returning my Jeep from a recall-fix. Jeeo still has yet to take responsibility for the damages caused. I have not felt safe since then. The steering has been wobbly, the turns make noise and shudder like the wheel is going to break off/fall off or worse snap. I have tried numerous attempts to get these issues resolved with Jeep Liberty of San Diego Camino del rio s. With no responsibility taken from them for the damages they have caused making me Jeep unsafe to drive.

The ABS and TPMS warning lights were illuminated. The contact called the local dealer however, the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified however, no further assistance was provided. The contact stated that the failure was related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 18V278000 (Suspension). The failure mileage was 179,323.

Already had recall rear control arms then Jeep was making noise front driver side I went to run corner on city street control arm in front broke blew out tire and rim had to have it tow then not even 6 months later upper control arm passengers identified same thing I was lucky enough to not be on highway electrical problems had car 3 1/2 yes replace compressor twice and alternator twice every now radio goes off and on lites go dangerous car but ca N T afford to do anything about

I've had lower ball joints, bushing and control arms already replaced once in 2017 and now they are out again. I've been told by mopar that my 2006 Liberty was made 5 weeks after the last one involved in the recall.this is inexcusable. I've had 3 window regulators replaced. This is a fatality waiting to happen if I drive. I started hearing and feeling the ball joints going bad about 2 weeks ago. I hardly have driven it since I work from home now. Can Chrysler see all these complaints about the ball joints and still not add these 06 Jeep's to that recall. This is not good business at all. Also just had front brakes done 1 year ago and they need replaced already. Ignition - my key will not come out of the ignition unless I push on the ignition cable. Please help me to get these problems fixed. This is unacceptable from Chrysler.

There is an active recall on some 2006 Jeep Liberty's, however mine was not included in the recall but is having the issues of the recall. I need my vehicle included in the recall since it is a problem my vehicle is experiencing. I was told by the dealer that the front ball joints (control arms) are out and that is what the recall is for. There was also a recall for the rear control arms and we had that recall corrected. Please add my car to the recall list so thsi can be corrected.

The contact owns a 2006 Jeep Liberty. The contact stated that while driving approximately 35 mph and making a right turn, a thumping was heard and the steering pulled to the right. After stopping to inspect the vehicle, it was discovered that the passenger's side front wheel was positioned inward. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the front passenger's side ball joint failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired however, the failure recurred on the same wheel. The cause of the failure was not determined. The local dealer was not notified. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The contact was informed that the vehicle was not included in the NHTSA campaign number: 06V288000 (suspension). The contact stated that the vehicle had experienced the same failure listed in the recall. The failure mileage was 119,000.

The contact owns a 2006 Jeep Liberty. The contact stated that while in line at a fast food drive thru, the vehicle started making an abnormal squeaking sound as the contact began to coast forward, without warning. As he proceeded to make a left turn, the lower ball joint separated from the control arm resulting in an unknown fluid leaking from the vehicle. Because of the ball joint separation, the front passenger's side tire popped out of place. Due to the failure, the contact had the vehicle towed to his residence. The following day the vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic. The mechanic diagnosed the vehicle with a fractured control arm that needed to be replaced. The contact then called dellen Chrysler Jeep Dodge (2640 w. main St, greenfield, in 46140) where he was informed that the vehicle was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 18V278000 (suspension). The manufacturer was also notified of the failure and it was confirmed that the VIN was not included. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 139,000. The VIN was unavailable.

My front lower ball joint broke my windows regulators don't last 6 months I tried to do the recalls since I bought thing and every time I tried I get the same thing we don't have the parts we don't have the parts not 1 of my recalls have been done tried N tried got feed up when I seen that there all off my VIN look up for my 06 recalls but 1and the funny thing is I just I made a service appointment on line to get lower control arms this week didn't say about no really until I was there and they were getting ready to pull it in then all of a sudden they don't have the parts in they would have to order them what a joke my ac blower hasn't worked on 1 since bought it new can't belive it has not caught on fire yet I'm now at almost 100000 miles they ain't done anything yet and not going to either I'm sure I'm wasting my time typing this useless information as wasted my time trying to get all my recalls fixed wishful thinking thanks for listening have a good day

While driving heard loud noise, thought it was a tire blowout in front passenger tire. Drove about 25 feet, sounded like driving on rim. Parked and inspected car, no problem with tires. Called tow truck. Tow truck hooked car up from rear causing exposure of detachment under neath

Purchased 2006 Jeep Liberty brand new, it is used only seasonally. Garage kept, approximate mileage is 39,300 miles. Safety recall on 2006 Jeep Liberty for upper and lower ball joints. The vehicle is dangerous. When turning, steering wheel does not come back except manually. Chrysler advises my VIN number is not included in the recall. I have seen that comment several times on this site. This is not my first issue with Jeep vehicles. We went to the Jeep dealer who stated there are no open recalls, we contacted Chrysler who stated there are no open recalls. There are 10 recalls on this vehicle, whenever notified it was brought to Jeep. The suspension issue is a safety recall on 2006 Jeep Liberty and conveniently my VIN number is not part of the recall. A garage kept seasonally used vehicle properly maintained with 39,000 miles has this issue and is now being repaired at my expense. Chrysler needs to be investigated. Please advise what other info is needed.
