On my 06 Jeep Liberty my 2 back rear windows have failed. The one I caught before it went down into the door, jammed some cardboard on the sides to keep it up. However, here in sw Florida during the summer we have a "rainy" season for 6 months. Needless to say driving down the road one of these bands of rain starts pouring and now here goes the other rear window down "inside" the door this time. Will not come up! if this is not a safety recall I don't know what is. Let's just say trying to keep the car on the road, in the correct lane all while trying to find someplace to pull off the road until the rain stops. Of course, now the seats are soaking wet, and we Liberty owners know what comes next...........because the seats get wet all this nasty white stain is on them and must be brought in to get cleaned. Douglas Jeep (venice, fl) did take care of both windows within 4 days, I do feel it is Jeep's responsibility and I should not have been charged period ($192) douglas Jeep has always been very concerned with this problem and I appreciate them getting me in as soon as they did. I might add that these two windows failed within 2 weeks of each other.

The back windows fall down randomly and won't stay up unless they are taped. The mechanic stated it was a faulty regulator. Jeep is aware of this, however, they refuse to acknowledge the issue. This is a serious safety issue as it is random, occurring while driving and when the car is parked.

We were driving on the highway when the drivers side rear door window dropped to the bottom of the track. The window would not operate by the electrical switch, and could not be made to close. I am told by the dealer that this will cost 500 dollars to fix, even though thousands of these failures are recorded by Jeep. They also demanded a $75 "diagnostic fee" to tell me this. This is dangerous. A child could be placed in serious jepardy by this defect.

Power windows on 2006 Jeep Liberty - 38,000 miles - window drops halfway down, when try power control it grinds and window will not move up or down with control, window falls into door. This is my third window & it is the regulator again. It is unconscionable that Chrysler/Jeep has not issued a recall (or has not been directed to by an authority) when it is so very obvious this is a manufacturer's defect.

I own a 2006 Jeep Liberty and have had it for approximately 2 years. During that time I have had to replace 3 of the 4 power windows due to mechanism failure. Tonight one of the windows I have replaced with manufacturers repair kit has broken so I will need to replace again. I have checked on the internet and this appears to be a prevalent problem with the Jeep Liberty and one that the manufacturer should be responsible for a recall and replacement with reliable metal parts instead of plastic. At $500 a window I can't afford to continue to keep replacing windows.

I have had to replace window regulator and window two times.(once on rear passenger window and one on rear driver side window) due to regulator failure. In both cases window slipped into the door. In both cases window and regulator were replaced. Old parts remained at the dealership repair shop.

2006 Jeep Liberty. The window regulator failed again, this is the third time on the passenger side front. Every window has failed at least once, some twice. This should be recalled. I have searched the internet for the last couple of years on this and have found hundreds of similar owners with this problem yet nothing seems to be done about it. Both rear regulators have quit working, leaving my Jeep and myself vulnerable to others being able to easily enter the vehicle. We have replaced one and will be replacing the other next week due to the cost. As if that wasn't enough, the sun roof just quit working and stuck partially open. I hardly ever use it, so it did not break due to use. We took it into the dealership and it will cost $1300 dollars to repair, which we cannot afford. Also, fuel quite often overflows when fueling, spilling gasoline down the side of my Jeep as well as spraying out onto the person fueling. It does not matter how slowly we put the gasoline in, it still overflows.

I was driving home with my wife and 7 month old baby in her car seat while driving, all of a sudden the rear passenger side window completely drops inside the door. I'm very upset about this due to if the window would've broke or shattered it could've hurt our new born baby. I have since looked online and have seen thousands of similar cases with the same problem (2006 Jeep Liberty). I don't know why Chrysler has not recalled this problem with the windows when soo many people are having the same re-occurring issue. Im stuck now with a bill from the dealer due to the warranty does not cover the whole cost of the repair which they explained that I need to replace the motor, window regulator also the glass. Keep in mind I jus purchased this vehicle in January 4 months later im already having problems.

Yesterday my drivers side rear window made a loud popping noise and the window fell down into the door. When I attempted to roll it back up it made a loud grinding noise. I am going to have to replace the power window assembly including the regulator and motor. This is the 3rd time I have had to replace one on this Jeep.

I had my 2006 Jeep Liberty in my driveway and looked out my bedroom window and noticed that my rear window was wide open in the rain!! I'm glad this didn't happen in a high crime area! anyway, brought it to the dealer the next day after wrapping plastic over it with duct tape and had it repaired under extended warranty (47,000K). The dealer said it was very common in that vehicle. I explained that I'm lucky it didn't happen on the highway with small children in the back seat. Two weeks later, the opposite rear window began to drop into the door well after hearing a popping sound which distracted me. This is clearly a safety issue and should be corrected by Chrysler. I would also like to get my $200 deductible reimbursed for this inconvenience. Thank you.

Multiple repeated failures of power windows, most recently left rear on or about 5/1/2010. We have had to have the same problem repaired on multiple occasions. Door fell into window when husband was being admitted to health South rehabilitation hospital two years ago, and neither dealership not extended warranty coverage would cover an emergency repair. We live at an altitude of over 8,000 feet and my husband has had surgeries for brain aneurysms and for lung cancer, which has left him in fragile health. We bought out Jeep Liberty after his surgeries because he liked the multiple passenger side handles on the renegade model. When a window fails to function properly, it is a major problem for an older man who is very sensitive to cold. This is a known problem that should be addressed by the manufacturer. Are we just waiting for a vulnerable person to pass away from exposure?

Rear driver side window while closing (was only 1/4 open) loud noise then would not close or open with button. Had to push up manually to close, window would not stay closed. Kept sliding open. Took to dealer repaired regulator and had to replace window. Only owned car for approx. 1 month.

What a joke, I traded in my foreign car (which with 150,000 miles, I dumped probably a $1000 in total for repairs) for an american vehicle. My back window fell down and looking at a $500 bill to repair it, I took silicone window sealer and sealed the window shut. Needless to say, my next vehicle will be one that has a 100,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty like my last one did. I can't believe with all of the reports of window failures the manufacturer will not stand by their vehicle. They continually manufacture vehicles with obvious defects, but with 32,000 miles on the vehicle hit you up for $500 a "repair" bill. This is not a repair, it is extortion to fix something that was and continues to be a defect in workmanship and materials, as well as poor design. It irks me when american car makers whine and get bail-out money because their product is defective and "not the same workmanship" as a foreign vehicle.

The contact owns a 2006 Jeep Liberty. While driving at approximately 65 mph, all four windows would gradually slide down. The contact engaged the power buttongs for the windows and although she could hear a noise, the windows would not move back up. The windows were so far down that they could not be pulled up. The vehicle had not been repaired at the time of the complaint. The manufacturer stated that they would assist with the repair costs. The current mileage was 25,045. The failure mileage was approximately 21,000.
