This is the 2nd time that a window in my 2006 Jeep Liberty has dropped while I was driving adn I've only owned it for 1 year. Last time it was by babies rear window that dropped on the highway. This time it is was passenger window that dropped on our way to the park. I didn't even use it because the ac was on. It just dropped loudly, everyone screamed, I swerved and we almost hit a sign! luckily I gained control and nothing happened. Now I have to pay $500 to get it fixed and be out of a vehicle for almost 2 days. I've had enough and I want Chrysler to fix this problem!

Used vehicle, carfax shows issue with window regulator twice before I bought the vehicle. While driving down road with my window 1/2 way down, the window just went crashing into the door. The window glass did not break. Jeep does not issue a replacement part for the window regulator so you have to go directly to the dealership to order the part @ $225 or have them replace it for @ $400.

There are no events leading up to the failure of the window regulator. Suddenly and without warning the window will drop inside the door and it cannot be opened with the window controls. The window regulator must be replaced to correct this problem.

The contact owns a 2006 Jeep Liberty. While driving at speeds of 25 mph in cold temperatures, the contact attempted to close the power windows but heard an unusual snap when doing so. The drivers side window then began dropping at an unusual angle. The dealer made repairs to the window accordingly. Within a few days, the rear drivers side window began to exhibit the same failure. There were no further repairs made to the vehicle. The failure mileage was 68,000 and the current was 71,000. Updated 5/3/10 the left front window was stuck and it would not roll up or down. My power window regulator for the passenger side rear window went out on me this morning. The window motor is fine, but the linkage that connects to the window is broken. This cannot be fixed by simple small part, the mopar is ripping off the public by requiring the entire assembly. The entire design needs to be overhauled, because it is a simple fix that should not require the entire replacement of the system.

The contact owns a 2006 Jeep Liberty. The left rear window motor assembly regulator failed and was replaced several times by the owner. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was verified that the regulator motor drive assembly was defective and repairs would be made at the owners expense. The manufacturer was contacted and confirmed that they were aware of the failure but would not assume liability for the repairs due to the vehicle being outside of the factory warranty. Failure apparently due to plastic parts fatigue, repair costs approximately 400 per occurrence.

I bought my Liberty brand new. Since I have had it I have had to replace the regulator in all of my windows. The back windows are the worst. The driver's side window has been replaced 5-7 times and the passenger's side has been replaced 4-6 times. There is no warning. I have been driving down the road and all of the sudden the window starts to fall down into the door. The dealer charges to fix it and replaces it with the same faulty part. I have paid over $1500 for a problem that keeps occurring. I live in Arizona and thought that it was because of the heat but then one of the service advisors told me that it's the part that is causing the problems. Jeep should issue a recall for this part. This is a serious safety issue. I have children in my back seat on a regular basis. Debris from the road could fly through the window and hit them. If someone leans on the window when it's taped up it could easily fall down into the door resulting in an injury. Thankfully, I have never had anyone injured to date, however, it's only a matter of time.

I own a Jeep Liberty 2006 and have continuing issues with window regulator failures causing the windows to drop into the door without any warnings. Since purchasing the vehicle all 4 have been replaced and I am now starting my second round of replacements. Apparently, Chrysler is replacing defective parts with another defective part. Chrysler has issued an internal bulletin but has not been cooperative or consistent with resolving customers continued complaints. Just bought the Jeep and on the way home the back glass fell down. Did not know what it was almost run off the road trying to figure it out. Needless to say I took it back the next morning and they knew right away it was a window regulator. Had to wait till Monday morning to take it back in and was 3 days in getting it back. Needless to say I now ride around with duck tape and plastic and am waiting for the next one to go. I am only asking for a simple recall to a simple fix for all of the Jeep owners who drive around with duck tape up to the windows. It is giving Jeep a bad reputation and have heard people say they will never own another Jeep because of this. Don't let Jeep be in the hot seat with shame on you Jeep when a death occurs because of this.

In the last four years of ownership of a 2006 Jeep Liberty sport the rear passenger windows have suddenly just fallen down into the door panel a total of five times. Jeep Liberty 2006. Bought new. To date 6 power windows have failed. 2 of them obviously for a second time after repair by Chrysler dealership. I live in South Florida were there is no chance of the windows becoming stuck with ice buildup between the weather striping & the glass. This is a design fault that Chrysler is aware of. Incredible that a large corporation is unable to design a powered window system that's been around for 50 years. During severe weather, rain storms, blowing snow or severe cold, this can become a dangerous situation. This failure is prolific on all Jeep Liberty's built from I believe 2003 to 2007. My Jeep has had failures that at the retail level would cost over $2000 approx $300 - $400 per window. Its only just over 3 years old. I am now afraid to open & close the windows. I have secured the last failure in the up position using a cable tie. Chrysler needs to address this issue.

The contact owns a 2006 Jeep Liberty. The window regulators failed while driving 35 mph when the glass fell into the frame. The front driver window and right rear passenger window regulators were replaced in September of 2009. She is also experiencing failure with the right front passenger, rear left and right windows. The dealer stated that the window regulators are defective and when they are replaced there is no guaranteed that it will not fail again. Report 19324618 was filed with the manufacturer and they told her to take the vehicle to the dealer to be diagnosed. They also stated that she might receive a goodwill allowance to help with the repair. The VIN was not available. The failure mileage was 66,500. The current mileage was 69,700.

All windows falling out of Jeep Liberty 2006>2007 due to cheap plastic connector. All windows and regulators have to be replaced. Jeep has published a bulletin to their dealers about the problem but there is no recall. Cost approx $2,000 per vehicle in parts and labor. Chrysler continues to ignore a safety problem with the Jeep Liberty. Customer complaints about their power window regulators that basically let the window fall out into the street or inside the car on top of sleeping babies and other passengers, or down in the door, or get stuck up or down.
