The contact owned a 2007 Jeep Liberty. While driving 10 mph, the rack and pinion bolt fractured. As a result, the suspension and front driver side wheel separated and became stuck in the wheel well. The contact lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where it was deemed destroyed. Neither the dealer nor the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 299,999. The VIN was not available.
