12/8/2020: My daughter had just returned home from college literally that morning driving through nyc to de. That afternoon she went out to see a friend and thought she had a flat tire while driving at about 50 mph and struggled to pull over. It was at night so we couldn't see the damage. We called aaa to come change the tire. He examined the fluid under the tire and then it was obvious that tire rod fell and punctured the tire. We could also see a long black trail where the tire rod dragged on the road before she could stop. The tow truck driver said if she didn't stop when she did she would have fell into the deep ditch next to it and it would have flipped over. Considering it was dark she was lucky and even luckier this didn't happen on the highway in nyc only a few hours earlier. But what was even more disturbing is the front upper and lower control arms were just replace the rear lower control arms due to corrosion was done at the dealer, along with an alignment. (NHTSA campaign number: 18V278000). It's clear that the recall should also include replacing the front control arms. The window regulator also failed the week before.

Driving down the highway and suddenly I had little steering control and it felt like I blew a tire. Pulled to the side of the highway, and saw that my tire was blown and my rim was damaged because the ball joint snapped and the control arm went through the rim. This was on the front drivers side and happeneded about 3 months ago. A similar thing happened today but it affected the front passenger side.

Right front of 2007 Jeep Liberty fell to the ground just after moving forward in a parking lot. Wheel bent out and all fluids released to the ground. If this had happened a few minutes later would have been driving on the interstate at approximately 65 mph. The vehicle would not move when pushed, so most likely at that speed it would have flipped over carrying a mother and child. Jeep had recalls for this problem through 2005. There are many complaints on this exact issue on the 2007. Jeep refused to assist in any way. The manager stated that it was not under warranty. Parts needed for repair: Control arm, ball joint and wheel which was cracked when the incident occurred. $1231. Jeep needs to step up and cover/reimburse for safety issues that are known issues on their vehicles. No good faith for safety from Jeep. Recall these parts before people get killed.

I was driving to work on the 101 (a major L.a. freeway) and all of the sudden felt my car collapse onto the passenger tire. I struggled to remain in my line, and had tremendous difficulty steering and wasn't able to brake as easily. I flew across three lanes of rush hour traffic and almost hit a wall. When I exited my vehicle I found that my lower ball joint had broken, causing my tire to explode.
