I was leaving wendys a fast food place and the headlights turned on then shut off I tried to turn them on again and they wouldn't come back on. I couldn't leave without lights so I disconnected the battery cables and tied them together for 10 minutes. Then I restarted the car and they worked for a while.

I started my car and my headlights flashed on and off about 3 or 4 times. After that happened I have been unable to get my headlights to stay on the just flash and shut off. My fog lights work properly but other headlights just flash and stay off. I have checked fuses/relays and nothing has changed.

Front windshield wipers automatically comes on once car starts. Wiper switch is in the off position. Turning signals has ceased. The totally integrated power module (tipm) is what defective, which causes a safety issue. Several Jeep have this problem & the manufacturer needs to fix it; it's a defect.

The problems started with the new battery going dead for no reason until I installed security cameras on our house and saw the head lights would randomly turn on and off running the battery dead when the car was parked in the driveway. Then the windshield wipers would come on and not turn off and sometimes the car wouldn't start and when it did on these events it would shake acting like it was running out of gas

Bought the vehicle in va on 2/19/18, driving home to me and after 50 miles in rain the horn started going off every time the wipers moved. Pushed the horn button and the washer fluid started squirting out. Was able to pull over and had to shut the Jeep off then was able to continue. Stopped in ct for gas and got back on the interstate and the all lights turned off on the outside but all the dash warning lights turned on, wipers turned on, horn turned on, washer fluid sprayer went continuously and the motor would stop and start on its own, while moving! luckily, made it to the side of the road and turned the ignition off but all electrical components continued to go off randomly then the car would not restart. After turning the key on and off multiple times, moving the shifting lever, pulling fuses from the panel under the hood and putting them back in it started running again. This happened a second time about 100 miles later. Was able to get the car back to me but after I shut the Jeep off and started it back up the horn and wipers started going off without any switches being touched. Looked this issue up online and found that this is a very common problem for Jeep/Dodge/Chrysler vehicles made in and around this time. Had a recall been done I would have known this was a possible issue and been able to make a better choice of a car to buy for my daughter. There was a real danger of getting into an accident when all of the lights went out while driving in the rain on a busy interstate and then the motor turning off and on while in traffic.

Car won't start. None of the electrical works. Dealer tells me it's defective tipm. It's very expensive and dangerous. I have seen multiple people online complaining about the same problem and I don't understand why there has been no recall on this vehicle for this problem. We were stationary when the vehicle power stopped working thank god. But I seen online where some people had the tipm problem while driving which is very dangerous.

The contact owns a 2008 Jeep Liberty. While driving approximately 55 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. The vehicle restarted after the contact disconnected and reconnected the battery cable. On one other occasion, while driving approximately 55 mph, the front headlights independently powered off without warning. The headlights illuminated again when the vehicle was turned off and restarted. On another occasion, while the vehicle was parked, the contact depressed the unlock button on the fobik and the horn consistently sounded and the headlights flashed. The contact detached and reattached the battery cable and the lights powered off and the horn no longer sounded. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, but the failure was unable to be determined. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 130,000.

When drivers door was opened, vehicle horn, wipers both front and rear all began to operate and I was unable to start and maintain the engine running, it was necessary to disconnect the battery terminal in order to stop everything. A month later, I was in town and it did the same thing. In April while coming to a stop sign the vehicle stopped running and the horn, wipers and lights all began operating. I was able to control the vehicle until it stopped. The battery had to be disconnected in order to get the vehicle to run. The next afternoon, it did it again however disconnecting and reconnecting the battery did not solve the problem. I had to leave the battery disconnected all night in order for the vehicle to reset.

This has happened four times in the last two months. The headlights have also started turning off while driving and I'm unable to turn them back on.

The contact owns a 2008 Jeep Liberty. The contact stated that when she attempted to make a left turn, the lights on the instrument panel blinked on and off intermittently. The failure began approximately one year ago. In addition, the interior lights blinked on and off when she accelerated in any direction and at any speed. She was also unable to lock the vehicle once she exited because the locking mechanism was inoperable. As a result, the vehicle was left unattended and unlocked. The dealer had not been notified. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure however, they did not offer any assistance. No repairs were performed. The current mileage was 60,000 and the approximate failure mileage was unknown.

While driving to work the car alarm, front and back windshield wipers, and the windshield wiper fluid activated. After a single incident the Jeep Liberty was taken in and had the multifunction switch replaced. The following week the problem happened again, going on and off for 10-15 minutes. The dealership indicated that it was the total integrated power module.

My brake light is not functioning. I went to dealership to have them replace bulb, but the dealership checked bulbs and bulbs were good. The dealership has notified me that there is a wiring issue with the brake lights. This is definitely a safety issue. If my brake lights fail during the day or night this could be a huge liability to Chrysler. I have to go back to dealer when I have more time. They said that they did not have time to fix it today. I hope that this is taken care of asap. [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

I have 2008 Jeep Liberty. The problem 1) the defrosters are to centrally located and do not clear ice and snow off the entire windshield. 2) the front turning signals get covered with snow and need to be cleaned off everytime there is any snow. The snow lays on the front bumper and covers the turning signals. Both of these are hazards.
