1. The vehicle will start and will not go into gear. The dash cluster will be nonfunctional, but after disconnecting the battery and letting it sit for some time and several tries later, it will eventually function as expected.

#2. Wipers will automatically come on and entire dash cluster will go dark.

#3. Upon initial start up engine will crank and not run.

#4. Tire dash icon illuminated all 4 PSI sensors function and check out good I have everything checked out and reset by an ASME Technician drive a short distance and voila PSI icon is back on. Tech after several tries suggest TIPM be thoroughly diagnosed.

After several hundred dollars a reputable ASME technician found no codes of consequence but did discover several corroded computer modules and cleaned them up. This seemed to clear up some things but not all. Overall the vehicle is safe to drive and is reliable in an uncomfortable way. I use FIXED ID to monitor the codes and get many codes regularly that are questionable or non-existent diagnoses. I would replace the TIPM if I could be assured the $$'s spent would in fact correct these issues. Buck009229@gmail.com

I can't go away on a road trip. It is impossible to lock the back door. I can't leave any luggage or shopping in the car, and I can't leave the car at an airport or a car park.

Safety My wife was driving our 2009 Jeep Liberty when it complete SHUT DOWN. The steering wheel locked, no brakes, and no power. She was making a left hand turn with traffic coming towards my right side of my car. Wife and my 6 year old son where in the vehicle. She felt like her life was threatened! Come to find out Chrysler has a known TIPM issue and has only provided recall for a few make and models. Check out these websites:

The TIPM is causing starting problems, tire pressure problems, and because the indicator of the tire pressure is lit on the dash, this causes seat memory to fail. Any suggestion or help is appreciated!

Problem started out with door locks not working. Fuse changed, now they will unlock, but not lock. Next problem that appeared was the failure of the AC/DC outlet in the vehicle not working. Now the problem is the washer fluid is full, but it will not operate. After reading about other TIPM issues with Chrysler products, I'm extremely concerned it is only going to get worse. Currently, my vehicle model is not on the recall list, yet most others are, some before 2009, and some after. Not happy.

This is the THIRD TIME I've had my Jeep Liberty in the shop over some damn MODULE that I swear they program to GO OUT at certain times!!!! This time however its not covered under my power train warranty like before with the TCM module ---- none of it is covered and they are saying it's going to be $1300.00 for the part and labor. When this "TIPM" decided to go out it totally shut my Jeep down. Turned off everything. The car, the air, even locked the wheel and left me and 2 kids on the side of the road. I waited a bit then started it back up and I had to drive it home stuck in 2nd gear which was amazing considering I was on an open road with a speed limit of 70mph.....this is a very scary. JEEP SUCKSSSSSSSSSSS! NEVER again will I EVER OWN one!!!!

2009 Jeep Liberty with only 16k miles & original owner!! Car has problems keeping charged battery and kills new ones fast... Before we were told now it is our TIPM, we have replaced car with 3 NEW high quality batteries in 4 years in Ohio (this is not the arctic!). Had car checked in past by AutoZone and Dealership only to be told they had no idea what was going on. Had the alarm system & alternator checked as they were possible culprits only to be eliminated. As I have read, why has Chrysler known this is a problem and not RECALLED this!! I love the car, but hate the electrical & tire problems I have had since the purchased it off the showroom floor.

Just very upset at the price of this part. I am a single mom who needs her vehicle to work and I really do not know how I will ever pay for this. I love Jeeps, have never had much problems with them. I take great care of mine, make sure of regular maintenance and oil changes. I work hard to keep food on the table for kids clothes on their backs, am shocked at the cost of this!!!
