Gas tank will not shut off when fill point is reached. Took it to dealer, was told "warped tank" costs $1015 for replacement ! obviously I am not the only owner with this problem. Dealer said part would be backordered because none were available & I should keep checking recalls because there must be a problem if no parts. This is my third Jeep. Might be my last.

Chrysler refused to cover repair expense due to mileage @ 95,000 (Chrysler case [xxx]. ground is saturated in gas every time I fill the tank and all over me. Do we have to wait for a gas station explosion before this is a recall" why hasn't NHTSA gone after this environmental and safety issue" information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

Each and every time I fill up my Jeep when the gasoline automatic pump dispenser shuts off I get splashed with gas and it goes all over me and my vehicle. This is a safety problem that Jeep should fix. There are safety bulletins out on this problem on several models of Jeep.
