Patriot Sport 4 cylander

  • Automatic transmission
  • 52,000 miles

While my mother in law was driving in afternoon traffic through town with my two young children (4 and 1 year old) in the car, the lights on the dashboard flashed and then the car bucked and stalled.

Towed to the mechanic and found a broken wire in the relay box at the starter relay needed to be replaced.

This car is dangerous. I am petrified that this will happen while driving on the highway. The car is a coffin on wheels. The electrically problems on Jeep Patriots are alarming and scary. I was warned by a mechanic not to buy this car but the price, the 4 wheel drive, and my love the Jeep design suckered me in. I cant wait to get rid of this death trap.

Patriot North 2.4L

  • CVT transmission
  • 38,525 miles

Jan 2012. Dash lights go on and off 1 or 2 times. when I parked I barely noticed the parking lights were dimley lite (on) 1 tenth of a percent of there brightness. It has to be night time to see this. could not find cause.

Feb 2012. While driving home dash lights go on and off a couple of times and then they go out completely and stay out. Get home played with switches, will not come back on. I parked and again parking light stayed on just like the last time. The park lights shut them selves of 3-4 hours later.I should mention, this did not interfere with the head lights or the turn signals.
