Returning home from Pittsburgh, PA on Monday Oct 10, 2016, the Jeep didn't sound correct. When we arrived home I was debating about dropping off my vehicle at my mechanics garage. Didn't drive until Wednesday to my Dr. Appt and on the way home the Jeep start making clunking noise when I would hit a bump on the driver side. I called my mechanic & told him what was going on and that I was dropping it off to have him check it. Thursday I got a call telling me that a bolt on my front left sub frame rusted from the inside and snap a bracket on my control arm & said he was going to order parts Friday for it.
I got a call the following Wednesday the 19th to tell me it was finished. Replaced new front sub frame and 2 control arms. Was upset because the situation could have been critical coming home from Pittsburgh on the Pa Turnpike..Thank the guy above for getting us home safely. This vehicle only has 36,192 miles. I am retired and 80 yrs young & this is the 1st Jeep I have ever purchased but never again. Thank goodness I never ever went off road trails. As far as I am concerned that is definitely a factory default the Front Sub Frame section rusted from the inside out...

Took the car in to fix a fuel tank issue (re-fix actually) and found out that the K frame is completely rotten. Rust on the undercarriage has been a miserable problem with this car. I would NOT recommend a Jeep Patriot to anybody.
