Patriot Sport V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 69,116 miles

This is at 2010 Jeep Patriot. I bought it used with 24,000 miles, one owner. I bought December 28, 2012. It has almost 70,000 miles on it. Most of those are highway miles due to driving my daughter to doctors appointments in another city. I took it to the Jeep Dealership and was told that the transmission needed to be replaced. It will cost $4000 to replace it. That is insane. I've had to replace a transmission on a vehicle before but that vehicle had over a 150,000 miles on it and it cost $1200.00. I bought a Jeep because I needed the 4wheel drive and thought it would be reliable. As a single mother with one kid in college and another with a life threatening medical condition, I don't have a extra $4000 laying around.

I would expect better from an American made product.

Patriot Sport 4x2

  • Automatic transmission
  • 10,000 miles

From the very beginning it acted funny. Slowing and then accelerating and making a rumble on some right turns.

I have taken it in several times, they use a 1/4 of a tank of gas and say there is nothing wrong. It does not do it all of the time. It happens sporadically. I had a 2008 that was used when I bought it and it acted the same way.

Four miles inside of the warranty I took it in again and the transmission was shot!!! I know this is going to do the same thing, but the problem is, that 3 years is the end of this month and I only have 10,550 miles on it. I want Chrysler to do something. Once the warranty is gone I am up the creek. Thank you
