I AM SERIOUSLY UPSET! I BOUGHT THIS JEEP SECOND HAND FROM A LADY WHOM WAS OCD ABOUT IT'S UPKEEP! SHE LITERALLY GAVE ME A FOLDER WITH RECEIPTS FROM EVERYTHING! INCLUDING SMALL THINGS SUCH AS OIL CHANGES! AND I TOO HAVE KEPT IT UP. VERY WELL IN FACT! ANYWAY, I'VE HAD IT A YEAR AND IT STARTED HAVING PROBLEMS ABOUT A WEEK OR SO AGO. FIRST, MY ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. THEN IT STARTED HAVING AN OCCASIONAL MISS. THEN WE SMELLED SOME SORT OF OIL BURNING. NOW SINCE THERE IS NO DIPSTICK FOR THE TRANNY, WE COULDN'T VERY WELL CHECK THAT! BUT WHEN MY BOYFRIEND TOOK THE FIILLER TUBE CAP OFF, THE ENTIRE TUBE CAME OUT! LOOKED TO HAVE BEEN SNAPPED OFF FOR A WHILE. I'VE SEEN OTHER COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS HAPPENING. WHY?!? THIS IS ABSURD!!! SO, I TAKE IT TO THE REPAIR MAN. HE FIXES THE TUBE. BUT NOW THE DAMN THING WILL NOT SHIFT OUT! I AM TRULY HURT...THAT JEEP IS MY HEART! WE HAVE AN UPCOMING VACATION IN FLORIDA PLANNED. BUT HOW THE HELL WILL MY KIDS AND I GET THERE IF MY BABY NEEDS A WHOLE NEW TRANNY??!!! WTF?? THIS SHOULD NOT BE HAPPENING. I MEAN WHO HAS EVER HEARD OF A FILL TUBE SNAPPING OFF IN THE FIRST PLACE?!?

fautly transmission. slips into neutral

The idiots at Chrysler Jeep Australia took over a year to agree we had a serious problem and to replace the gearbox. We were forced to drive a seriously defective vehicle for over a year. Vehicle would slip out of Drive and into Neutral of its own accord. Constantly fearful of what vehicle will do next. This is not the only problem our vehicle has. They have so far replaced faulty mirror motors, faulty window motor, faulty steering column/steering rack and when they replaced the transmission they did not screw the bits and pieces. So less than two weeks after getting the vehicle back a bolt broke and we basically had the front driver's side wheel coming off from under the vehicle. Great job Chrysler. Was our lemon a one-off or are there other crappy Jeeps like ours out there?
