A/C out after owning a brand new car for 3 and a half years? For sure the last Jeep we'll ever own. Driving without A/C in the Texas heat is not easy, fixing it will cost upward of $1,700 which is quite a bit for us. This is really aggravating and will be looking to trade this vehicle for something more reliable.

I had taken the Extended Warranty on the Jeep when I bought it in 2014 as I wanted to cover any major problems and was encouraged by the dales person to do so. I had a horrible experience with a previous Chrysler vehicle and had no desire to go through nothing like that again. I was told all major repairs would be covered. Everything except wipers, brakes, tires and oil changes.
I could not believe it when the car became hot. I checked and realize no AC.So I expressed my concern to my brother and asked if it need Antifreeze. He said no, something is wrong these newer vehicles do not need Antifreeze and I should take it to the Dealership. I called, made an appointment thinking if it is the AC it is covered under warranty. When I went to drop it off for them to check and they told me the Fee to check is $130 separate from repairs. So I told them I had warranty to cover that. They checked and said they could not find where the Ac was covered, I just felt faint. So I refused to leave it until I could straighten out the Warranty issue.
I called Chrysler Warranty Division. They told me the warranty which would have covered it ended a few months earlier and my warranty does not cover it because 5 years has passed.and it is over 50K miles. Who ever hear of the AC going on a 6 year old Jeep!
I cannot find the estimated $1400 it may cost to fix it. My Father had a 2 year old minivan and the AC went and it cost him over $1000 to fix it and that was 2002! I went through hell with a Dodge Caravan that took all I had and I still had to get rid of it. I owned a Mazda with 285K and the AC was still working! I have a 2000 Honda Civic and the AC still works!! This is 6-7 year old JEEP. This is just unbelievable and makes no sense.
