over one year notification air bag deployment malfunction

I was notified in 2016 that the Jeep Patriot I own has a malfunction as the airbags will not deploy if I am in an accident. It is now over one year later and Jeep still has no answer on the resolution for my saftey. Do I stop driving my jeep or continue driving with risk fatal injury? Return the vehicle for a refund ? Employ an attorney and bring legal action against the manufacturer ?
