I bought this 2016 jeep patriot a month and a half ago. First time going through the drive thru wash with my daughter. She was watching the sunroof and I see water dripping in the back corners of the sunroof.

I have only put 5000km on this.

Taking to dealership tomorrow!

The Jeep dealership wants me to pay $120 just to diagnose the problem. This issue has been reported in Jeep Patriots apparently since the 2009 models and still has not been fixed. A recall should be made.

Usually park this vehicle in the garage, purchased it in February very little drive time on it though. Just shy of 3k miles. Left it out this week and it rained outside....and inside the jeep it seems. Yes, it does have a sunroof, but the water collected and came pouring down from the front dome light where the switches for the sunroof are located. Upon inspecting the sunroof itself we could not find any sign of water around the trim of it. We are stumped. We dropped it off at the jeep dealership this morning and have yet to hear anything yet. The service folks seemed very confused about water leaking in from there, but after seeing that this has been going on for 6 year models now I would imagine they should know something about it by now. I am really hoping we are not screwed and stuck in a lease for 3 years if this is going to continue.

I have had my brand new 2016 Jeep Patriot for exactly 1 week and got our first heavy rain today. Car has been sitting in the driveway all day with all the windows closed in the rain. Went to pull out of my driveway and about a 1/4 cup of water poured out of my dome light on to my dash and radio. There continues to be a visible puddle of water sloshing around inside the dome light.

water leaking into cabin

Had car less than a month, less than 2000 km. Leaking water through cabin lights, all down interior of car. Was a faulty drainage tube for the sunroof. Tubes were fixed and dealership considered this 'resolved'. My touchscreen is all wavy. There's water still pooled in my lights. Every time I lower my windows, they come back up wet. When the heat in my car is on, it smells burnt. Car is so filled with condensation it's fogging as I drive. Jeep considers damage from faulty tube to be my problem, and that they are not liable.

water leaking into cabin

This is my Second Jeep Patriot that has the leak. Previous one I claimed Lemon Law. I took it in to get it fixed on Thursday and on Saturday, the leak or another leak reared it's ugly head.

The day I bought the vehicle, there was a little bit of water in the map lights of the vehicle. Service department said it was just condensation. Had no problems with it until July when the problem occurred again.

water leaking into cabin

Had heavy rain over night and when I got in my Jeep in the morning, it was soaked. Water was pouring out the map lights. Head liner around map lights and sunroof controls was soaked. Had water all over the dash and down the center console. The seats and floor were soaked. The stereo was shorted out and I had puddle's of water around the climate controls and shifter. This is the second time I've had water in the map lights. First time there was no damage and they said it was just condensation. Obviously that was not the case.

water in rear dome light

Purchased this 2016 Jeep Patriot new in March. Before my first payment was even due which was less than a month, I had water leaking inside the rear dome light and then onto the rear floor/back area. Dealership not willing to do anything other than fix the leak - they didn't care about me wasting my time to bring the car to them then pick it up later, something I definitely did not imagine would happen with the first month of purchase and before I even made my first car payment!! Now just one week after the "repair", my rear dome light is again filled with water. Because like a lot of people, I have a job from 9-5 in another city, I will drive to the dealership in Cortland tonight, drop off the car because at that time there will be no one in the service department, and then, assuming they will again attempt to repair/plug the leak, I will go back tomorrow to pick up the Jeep. This will make the 2nd repair for the same problem before my first car payment is even due!!! I realize the repair is covered under the warranty, but what a pain in the ass it is to be going back and forth for the same repair. I didn't expect to buy a new vehicle and end up in the repair shop - twice - this soon. And my salesman -to me he really could care less. But then again why would he, he's already made the sale. Luckily I have not taken the time to answer that survey that he talked so much about and how giving him all "10's" would be appreciated. I will be taking the survey now! Is it the salesman's fault - of course not - but am I pissed at him for seeming to not give a sh*t - YES! GRRRRRR!!!!!!!

water leaks in through rear cargo light

Dealer replaced the washer hose grommet in the rear of the vehicle. Just found out it is still leaking after a hard rain. I am worried that the headliner is being ruined. I am afraid that in time the cardboard in the headliner will loose its shaped and fail. I going back to dealer to have it fixed again and replace the headliner..

Update from Feb 23, 2016: Second time leaking Feb 11. They said the large plastic plug in middle top of hatch, was leaking now. Replaced it . Third time leaking February 16 in the same spot rear cargo light. Dropped it off to service February18 . Called Jeep Customer care for case number. Advised them in email, they were on notice , if not fixed right this time, I would be filing on Oregon's Lemon law under the three repair not fixed rule. Vehicle fixed Feb 22. Service advised Jeep stated they used wrong sealer on rubber grommet for washer hose replaced again, with different sealer around it. They stated no damage to headliner. They stated they water tested it after repair , no leaks. All fixed. It is going to rain this weekend so we will see.

Update from May 23, 2016: worked with dealer and jeep. My car made on 08-2015. they had to grind roof epoxe sealer under plastic trim in roof , mine was bad, leaks thru seam in roof under trim. They had to re paint the roof after job done. They did a horrible job on mine. I refused it. Jeep agreed to replace or buy back. I was nice and said replace , found one on April 13 at dealer I bought it from. just been given the run around since, In Oregon under lemon law maker of vehicle must pay all legal fees, so I hired one to handle now a buy back. I was willing to replace with one costing me $2000 more, and I got the run around. I bought at the end of November a 2016, leaked still after three repairs. Dealer had my car the full month of March. Went thru Jeep customer cares, conflict resolution mgr. and then jeep agreed to replace or buyback thru a replacement coordinator. Still to this date no resolution from them. In Attorney 's hands now. No Cost to me

Update from Aug 18, 2016: Jeep bought my jeep back today, I signed papers and they own it now , gave me my money back. I recommend get an attorney to handle, Jeep took their own time not doing anything with my claim until legal got involved. It still took also 90 days after I got legal representation. Oregon law makes manufacturer pay your legal fees. Attempted repairs and legal things to the end took 8 months , dealer was no help at all.

Update from Sep 7, 2016: After 8 months Jeep finally bought my jeep back under lemon law. Lithia dealership no help at all. My dealings are closed , got all my money back.
