On Sunday, Jan 26, 2020, I was driving from Eagle river, ak to joint base elmendorf-richardson on the glenn highway. I noticed that the hood of my 2017 Jeep Patriot was bouncing. I reduced my speed and moved into the far right lane until I was able to exit the highway safely. When I pulled into the parking lot on base, I found that the hood release had popped, but the safety latch was still engaged. I released the safety lock, raised the hood and then closed it.. I then took my Patriot to the Jeep dealer in anchorage and they checked it out and told me that it was safe to drive my Jeep.
