Conditions: 7:00am, 75 degrees, 90% humidity, sunny, (with AC off). When 1st starting engine at the beginning of the day, engine RPM shoots up to approx. 1,300 rpm without touching the gas pedal (with AC off), this happens every morning
Conditions: 1:00pm, 89 degrees (with AC off), engine at normal operating temperature, after driving approx. 5 miles between 25-45 miles as vehicle was approaching red light with foot off gas pedal and applying brakes, vehicle would accelerate momentarily after down shifting to each gear (7th gear to 2nd gear).
On occasion during heavy traffic while crawling in 2nd gear vehicle RPM will go to approx. 1,500 causing an increase in acceleration and stay there till brakes applied to full stop.
06/08-12/15 drove the Jeep to Louisiana, Missouri (St. Louis area) to visit family. No acceleration abnormalities during high speed in 9th gear (Hwy speeds of 65-75 mph) with cruise control on and Air Condition running.
Took vehicle to service department on 06/20/15:
2 Updates performed: Electrical Level A – Flash software 1 software flash for TCM (Module, Transmission Control Reprogram) AND Electrical Level A Flash software 2 software flash for PCM (Module, Engine Control Reprogram)
After updates
Conditions: 11:30am, 95 degrees, 90% humidity, sunny, (with AC off). While driving around our neighborhood (15 mph speed limit), after letting off gas to coast the vehicle will accelerate between 5 to 6 mph by itself without touching the gas pedal on level pavement, in 2nd gear.
Sometimes I can travel around the neighborhood without accelerating the gas pedal @ 10 mph to 11 mph. (outside temperature 90 degrees, sunny, straight level, approx. 1,500 rpm on asphalt).
At one time the vehicle accelerated approx. 1,500 rpm @ 12 mph in 2nd gear, slight upward grade.
Another time the vehicle accelerated approx. 1,600 rpm, 2nd gear, straight level.

Was traveling on the interstate between 70-75 mph and all of a sudden the vehicle accelerated on it's own. Then many warning lights turned on...lost control of brakes...couldn't slow vehicle down with manual transmission...could not use E brake because it's electrical...engine was non responsive...A/C stopped working...could only move vehicle by putting vehicle in 1st gear and releasing the clutch...max speed 2mph..I'm lucky to be alive and lucky I was traveling uphill during this incident...Hopefully Franklin, TN Chrysler Jeep Dodge cares about their customers lives and will simply let me pick out a different car since this one could've been deadly for me and my family...Vehicle had 479 miles when incident occurred...
