I've been dealing with a couple of issues with my 2015 Renegade Latitude and although some were minor, it seems that I have quite a serious one ahead of me.
Back in February, I was backing out of my garage when I lost all control of my power steering. The wheel went from being super easy to turn to being practically un-turnable. At the same time the Jeep stopped and I checked my instrument cluster (nothing), checked to make sure I didn't stall (I didn't), and made sure I was in reverse (I was). My foot hadn't slipped off the clutch and the gas pedal was depressed to control the backing up. I was momentarily confused, as was my fiancee, who happened to be in the garage at the time. I physically could not turn the wheel so my next step was to turn off the car to reset it. When it came back on, everything was fine and I wasn't sure if I had done something to cause this although I was 99.9% sure I wasn't. I immediately called a dealership to get it brought in.
At the dealership, while addressing a couple of other minor issues (back up camera doesn't like to work and when shifting at low speeds the shifting sounds like a "clunk") they ran my car for trouble codes. I cannot even tell you how many codes presented themselves (like 6 or 7) and some of these codes were major issues like the electrical system not communication with others and such. The dealership said, "well, maybe the issue was the systems weren't communicating".
