The windshields are made with poor quality glass.when you get a chip it spreads beyond repair in a day.I bought my vehicle brand new in Nov.of 2016, in Jan 2017 had the windshields replaced.got another rock chip last month and the windshield has to be replaced.I have only had this car 10 months and will be on my 3rd windshield.I have owned vehicles 32 yrs and never had to replace windshields this much.rock chips don't normally spread quickly like they do on the Renegades.I thought it was just me but Renegade owners all over the U.S.are experiencing the same problem.someone is gonna have to die for Jeep to realize this problem.no car should need 3 windshields in 10 months.

Windshield breaks easily when a small rock hits it while driving. We had to have the windshield replaced after only having the vehicle less than a month. We had to wait 2 months to get the windshield from the factory because there were 11 in front of us.(seems to be a problem. Why would so many windshields need to be replaced?). after replacing the windshield, in just one week, the same problem occurred. This was just driving down a regular interstate highway in St. Louis. We have had other rocks hit windshields on previous vehicles, and they often deflect off with no problem. The Jeep windshield seems to be more vertical, and when a small rock hits it, it hits it dead on and cracks the windshield. I have not had the last windshield replaced yet because I do not want my insurance rates to go up by making another claim within such a short period of time. When I researched this on line, it was discovered that many people are having same problem with the windshield breaking easily when hit by a rock. This seem to be a problem not only with the Renegade, but also the Jeep Cherokee and Jeep Wrangler.

My windshield chipped & cracked. The strange thing is the crack is on the inside behind the rear view mirror, not on the outside of the car. Which leads me to believe it wasn't a rock or stone that hit the wind shield but there must be a defect in the glass. I called Jeep & they won't acknowledge a defect unless you organization says so. I've read about other Renegade owners with the same issue online and Jeep won't do anything. Can you help?

My car was stationary in the parking lot at my apt and the windshield cracked on the passenger side top right to the middle by the rear view mirror. Also just recently something hit the windshield and it has a large round shattered crack. The windshield seems to crack very easily.

My Jeep Renegade in 3 short months has had 4 different incidents of things flying up and breaking the windshield. The first three I was simply driving on the street I live on. No construction, no loose asphalt, and no debris in road. The last incident happened when a small bird hit the windshield and completely shattered the drivers side windshield.
