Brand new vehicle that has a transmission that will not shift between first and second gear without bucking and jerking and when cold poses a hazard when pulling into traffic. I have complained to the dealer they say all do this. It has a zf 9 speed transmission that everyone knows should be recalled

Vehicle was purchased May 16, 2016. On August 6, 2016 the vehicle completely shut off while traveling 60 mph down the interstate. The electronic traction control light came on and the 4-wheel drive lights shutoff completely. It only traveled approximately 20-30 feet before coming to a complete stop. All the lights on the dashboard came on and stayed on. After the stop, the driver was able to put the vehicle in park and attempted to restart the vehicle to remove it from the interstate. The vehicle did not restart, did not turn over; absolutely nothing happened. Shortly after the complete shutoff, the vehicle was hit by another vehicle. Now that the vehicle is in the shop, the body shop is also unable to start the vehicle. They have replaced the air bag assembly and seat belts and the light indicating the fuel shutoff is still on.

Vibrating/rumbling noise through gas pedal and rear differential between 29-34 mph while using cruise/not using cruise/letting off gas pedal slowly; dealership claims its the high gearing, its normal, we cant replicate, Chrysler rep states the same thing, yet I take the service mgr for a ride and theres the noise, take service mgr for a ride in another Renegade and theres the noise, supposedly they will work on figuring out whats the issue on the other Renegade and then deal with mine. Digital speedometer fluctuates between +/-1 mph upon setting cruise on level elevation, setting cruise speedometer in center display will read 69 mph but upper right speedometer display reflects 70 mph and only time they ever are the same is when your going downhill, Chrysler rep at wi dealership states this is normal and I am calling bullshit, they wont fix it because its within the normal parameters but scientifically it doesnt jive.

My car stopped brand new in the middle of the freeway on the first road trip from California to Utah driving at 80mph (there are some parts in Utah where that's the speed limit) and it almost caused an accident driving on I-15 since there were 18 wheelers driving next to me and lost complete control of the car I had to get out of the car and push it to the shoulder, luckily all the drivers were able to stop for me to do it.

When cold the transmission shifts rough and this causes the car to hesitate and lurch forward and in some instances the car will not accelerate especially when attempting to enter traffic causing several near misses. This has happened many times not just the date entered below.

2016 Jeep Renegade traction control - while making a left hand turn the vehicle's traction control light began blinking on and off and there was loss of power/acceleration. Once the light went off the vehicle began to move again. This has happened 3 or 4 times, while turning or driving on a slight hill. The loss of power is a major safety issue as when turning, you are crossing traffic. The driving conditions were dry, smooth road.

Multiple times when taking off from a stop, under completely dry conditions with clean pavement, the vehicle traction control system has kicked in. The only way to get it to turn off has been to come to a complete stop again, which is very dangerous when pulling out onto a 55mph highway.

We purchased a brand new 2016 Jeep Renegade latitude on June 11, 2016. On July 1, 2016 at approximately 400 miles the car began to malfunction. On July 1, the vehicle was started via the push-start ignition and ran until the windshield wipers were powered on, at which point the car shook violently, several dash indicator lights came on (engine, parking break, etc.) and the car continued to idle heavily and shutter until the engine killed. Upon restarting, only the engine light was showing, so my husband began to drive it to the dealership. Approximately 3 miles later, at top speeds of 40 mph the car's accelerator and power steering failed and he veered off of a two-way highway into a field. The car was towed to the dealership where they "updated the computer" and sent us on our way without acknowledging the extreme safety hazard regarding the finicky computer system that controls the car and can fail at any moment without warning. On July 15, the satellite radio searched for a signal for several hours, with no other symptoms. On July 17, the car failed again, upon ignition. Several dashboard indicator lights came on the and the car could not be shifted into any gear. On July 18 the car would start, but not shift, and again, has been towed to the dealership for service. Today is July 18, so now we're playing a game of "wait and see" if another computer update will "fix" this death-trap of a vehicle. I feel like this car is a hazard to us and anyone around us on the road or sidewalks where we may be forced to veer off to avoid a collision if the system fails again. There needs to be a recall on this vehicle, immediately, before people are injured or die due to a defect that the dealerships and Jeep are obviously aware of, but refusing to acknowledge.

I had the car for less than 3 weeks, brand new, check engine light came on. All tests were performed and the final solution after one full week of testing is to replace the transmission. The car has 700 miles on it. I am extremely concerned driving a brand new car with my kids in it that replacing a transmission is only the first step.

Vehicle accelerated on its own. Driver took foot off the brake from dead stop and the Renegade suddenly accelerated on its own without touching the accelerator. The insturment panel flashed and flickered various trouble indications and then stopped with the message to service the electric emergency brake.
