Was sitting in a drive through and car started smoking. It stopped after I shut everything down. Then another time it overheated after driving for seven minutes had to stop. Air conditioning doesn-??t work. Engine light on. Just bought from dealer with 20000 miles like a lemon. So not right.

While at an intersection as I was turning left across the side of oncoming traffic my vehicle completely stalled in the middle of the road the gas pedal was stuck and would not accelerate and then a code on my dash appeared Service Throttle Body, after 45 seconds the code went away and the veh was finally able to accelerate so I could move out of the middle of the oncoming traffic side of the road. I then proceeded to go straight until I could find a parking lot to pull into. Right before I was able to pull into the parking lot the Jeep did the same thing again. Would not accelerate, I put on my flashers, the same dash code came back on Service Throttle Body and after 45 seconds the Jeep went back to acting fine. I was finally able to pull into a parking lot and turn off the jeep.

This car comes almost to a dead stop and stalls when accelerating. Its dangerous because it will stall right as I'm entering traffic and attempting to get up to the speed of traffic during a time when all other cars around me are also accelerating, it's happened since the first day I bought the Jeep I've already filed a complaint. These engines should be recalled.

I was driving when this incident happens on a highway or when I drive in the city. When I go to accelerate usually it happens when my vehicle is going slow for example at a yield sign or at a rotary. I will then press the accelerator and it feels like the transmission is slipping and more times than I'd like to remember someone has almost hit me because they were anticipating me proceeding but when I step on the gas it feels like the transmission slips and I don't go anywhere except I just keep rolling very slowly. I've even floored the gas pedal when this has happened to avoid collision and still my vehicle would not accelerate!! after a few seconds it feels like something is catching or kicking in and the Jeep will kind of jerk and then I will be able to use the accelerator pedal again because it works again! I have a 2016 Jeep Renegade.

Jeep's skid control system malfunctions. It activates in perfectly dry weather with dry pavement, as I'm accelerating. This causes the car to slow to almost a complete stop at exactly the time it should be accelerating. The skid control light blinks on the dashboard to show that it's in use. This is happening on a daily basis.

On two occassions while the vehicle was in drive operating on a two lane highway and remained in the drive position with the vehicle in motion the transmission indicator on the display shifted to neutral and the rpms revved without the accelerator pressed and the engine cut off. No codes or check engine lights indicated. The shifter remained in the drive position. The car had to be guided off the roadway and placed into park to be restarted. Vehicle was slow to restart both times. Both incidents occurred after entering a highway into the flow of traffic and accelerating and presented a danger to all drivers.

Driving down the road the car lost power, oil pressure light came off, lost power steering, car shut down. Wouldn't start. Checked oil, called tow truck. I had to push the car back to get it off the road while my husband backed it up to get it off the road. Tow truck got there, put can in neutral, engine light came on and wouldn't go off, car wouldn't turn off emergency brake, pushed it 20 or so times, emergency brake finally turned off so we could back up the car so the tow truck could get it front of it to tow. Car is now at the dealership. We have had nothing but problems with this car and it is dangerously unsafe. The car was in the dealership already this summer for weeks for electrical lights going off and the car continuing to run without the key in the ignition. The Jeep Renegades need to be took off the road.

A few months after purchase all the lights on my dashboard and headlights constantly flicker, they get really bright and then they dim down, the acceleration does not work if I slowdown to 5 miles per hour or less, it stalls until I come to a complete stop. My emergency break, seat belt and airbag maintenance lights go off at random times when I first start my car, the dealership cannot duplicate the acceleration issue, and they are not seeing error codes for the airbags, seat belt and emergency break but they have attempted to repair the dashboard lights at least 3-4 times with no permanent solution.

Hi [xxx]at fca - my name is [xxx]. I called your office at fca customer service regarding the 2016 Jeep Renegade purchased at wilder Toyota. I spoke to [xxx] and she was unable to put me through to leave a direct message. Please call me at+[xxx] regarding my niece [xxx] vehicle a 2016 Jeep Renegade trailhawk. I hoped you would listen as I explain to you in detail that the Jeep Renegade my niece bought at wilder Toyota in port angeles Washington the is dangerous. The vehicle by the way -that has almost caused her and her son to be in four accidents due to its sudden deceleration at 50 mph to 30mph with no warning. Here is the "fixes? for the same problem that never addressed the reason the vehicle continues to do the same thing. Nothing is fixed. Also it has broken down four times -the last time on the hood canal bridge which stopped traffic in both directions and a tow truck had to come out on the bridge to tow it all the way back to wilder Toyota in port angeles. She has had to have it towed back to wilder Toyota four times and they have not fixed it at all. Now apparently you would like her to drive it away tomorrow???? and apparently this time it?S fixed because the ?oil got changed?? what?? that?S not the problem [xxx]the problem is that the car is going to kill someone if not [xxx] then someone else. Why would you threaten her that she has to bring back the loaner when whatever is wrong has not been addressed?? are you listening to her when she tells you she?S is afraid of driving that vehicle due to the numerous problems and scary situations it has put her in? are you listening to me " Chrysler needs to do the right thing and buy that car back before it kills someone white this vehicle off of the road immediately before it kills my niece and her 3yr son. Within a few weeks into purchasing the new 2016 Jeep Renegade vehicle in December 2016, and intermittently since then, we have had "dead peddling" issues, example: We are stopped at a stop light to turn right, traffic clears with enough clearance to allow a safe acceleration to turn right and enter with the flow of traffic, however, when the gas peddle is mashed to go forward, nothing happens, sometimes for a few moments, and then the car moves forward at the, now, wrong moment, when it is unsafe to turn right, since traffic has caught up and the gap to enter the flow of traffic is no longer a safe distance from oncoming traffic, causing me to have to hit the brakes. Also, accelerating onto the highway from an exit/entrance to enter the highway (going 25-35 mph from the on ramp, when entering onto a 65 mph highway), pressing harder on the gas peddle to attempt to achieve a higher speed to move onto the highway with the flow of traffic, is delayed or doesn't happen at all unless we let off the gas and press again, sometimes multiple times, and the vehicle is still traveling at an unsafe slower speed than the flow of highway traffic going 65+mph. These issues happen randomly both when the vehicle is at a complete stop, and at a lower speed when we want to speed up. We have no issues braking or slowing down. Another safety flaw is the vehicle does not shift gears when needed, it will "red-line" occasionally before shifting when attempting to speed up. All of our issues have happened both on the highway and in the city. We have almost been hit or rear ended by a semi-truck or other vehicles due to these flaws. Every time we bring it to the dealership with these complaints, or for normal oil changes, we have mentioned these issues and they have been documented as such, however, the dealership doesn't have fixes for the issues, as they can't duplicate the issue.

The contact owns a 2016 Jeep Renegade. While driving various speeds on different occasions, the vehicle inadvertently accelerated. The contact stated that the brake pedal needed to be depressed firmly to stop the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to arrigo Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram West palm beach (6500 okeechobee blvd, West palm beach, fl 33411, (561) 257-5198) and test driven, but the failure could not be duplicated. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 19,000. The consumer stated the vehicle intermittently stopped responding to the releasing of the gas pedal.

I have seen a recall for the 2017 Jeep Renegade where the engine is stalling. This is an issue with the 2016 and 2015 as well. I have a 2016 and mine has stalled numerous times, but today it almost got me and others on the road, killed. I was turning onto a roadway and it stalled to a stop in the middle of the road. I have talked with other local Renegade owners that all have the same issue. Why aren't the other, previous years included in on the recall since we all have this issue? I have made my family aware of this issue, so if anything happens to me while driving, they know where to go, legally. I am so disappointed, because this was supposed to be my safe fix over my VW beetle convertible - I felt safe in that over this vehicle. I am now stuck with a car that I am frightened to drive and will most likely need a repair for a known issue, but I will get to foot the bill. I have just scheduled a diagnostic test with a dealership, just to be reimbursed when the recall is issued.

This car is eventually going to kill someone. The accelerator chooses when to work. My car has 35000 miles on it and when I am turning or on the highway or just driving normally, pressing down on the accelerator it has a two to three second delay before it will engage. The dealerships won't help me and it has almost caused me to get into numerous accidents with my three year old son in the car! many people are having the same issue. Also as of today I am having to replace the radiator fan for the third time. It has burned up twice before! how unfair to buy a new car and have to have these outrageous expenses and safety issues!!! this has to be fixed.

When driving I slow to make a turn, when trying to accelerate during the turn the engine will not respond to the gas pedal being pressed and the traction control light flickers on the dashboard. Has happened at numerous speeds when turning. I get stuck in the middle of a turn with traffic coming at me. I have had the vehicle to the dealer twice now and they keep telling me nothing is wrong with it. Very serious safety issue. Vehicle has 7,100 miles on it.

While driving my 2016 Jeep Renegade trailhawk on a city street it began accelerating rapidly on its own. I began engaging the brakes to try to slow the vehicle initially and the engine continued to the point of redline. I attempted to shift the car into neutral but the command center kept overriding my input; I was finally able to jam the car into neutral by slamming the palm of my hand into the shifter driving forcing the neutral shift. I was able to pull off to the should of the road where the car continued running at redline for several minutes while I attempted to stomp on the accelerator hoping to get the vehicle to disengage. Due to the electronic controls you cannot turn the car off while in neutral and the engine running at such high rpms. After roughly 10 attempts at stomping on the accelerator hoping to get the vehicle to respond it dropped to a standard idle. Only being a short distance from my neighborhood at the time of incident I limped the car back home. During that time the traction control light began flashing, the battery light came on, the temp sensor spiked to max temp, the oil pressure warning light came on and the A/C began to blow hot and the engine light came on. Upon safely pulling in my driveway it smelled of a hot burning rubber/oil smell and there was some type of fluid leaking from the car that appeared to be the synthetic oil.

The vehicle has a 3 second delay when stepping on the gas pedal before it actually executes on downshifting and accelerating the vehicle. The vehicle has an automatic transmission. The delay is only when the vehicle is in motion stepping on the gas pedal from 0 mph will not reproduce the issue. I addressed the issue with Jeep they performed a firmware update then stated they were unable to reproduce the issue however I do not believe they actually tested driving the car. The vehicle used to have the same issue from stationary until the Jeep dealership performed a firmware update on the vehicle now the delay is only when the vehicle is in motion. This is how it goes: When I step on gas pedal @1 Mississippi - nothing happens @2 Mississippi - nothing happens @3 - I hear the car rpms increase - @Mississippi - transmission responds and vehicle executes accelerate function. This happens every time with out failure that the gas pedal is pressed all the way to the floor "pedal to the metal" so to speak when the vehicle is in motion.

2016 Jeep Renegade trailhawk loss of power accelerating from a stopped position, turning/merging into traffic form a slowed/stopped position, vehicle stopping up hill. 13,200 miles the 'check engine' light on, engine powered down twice when pulling out from a stop & turning left w/ slight incline, once going straight across a 2-lane hwy, & engine powering down when merging. Dealership said due to an update needed. Two wks after the update, engine powers down making a right turn form a stop sign. Dealership couldn't replicate & told to drive careful. A few wks later, I was stopped at a stop sign. I made a left-hand turn w/ an incline. As I started accelerating, the Renegade suddenly lost speed & ceased to move as I was pressing the gas petal. Those few seconds of pulling out w/ oncoming traffic could quickly lead to a wreck when you lose power in the middle of the road. I felt a great deal of panic, distrust of my Renegade. I feared for my safety. I take the Renegade back to the shop no real resolve. I was driving up a steep hill at which time my Renegade completely stopped as I was nearing the top of the hill. As you can imagine, this was terrifying to say the least! when the Renegade stopped, I was fortunate enough to not have anyone following behind me. However, due to the angle & steepness of the hill, I was panicked the Renegade would roll down. I never put my foot on the break & continued to pump the gas. After about 5 pumps on the gas, the Renegade began to slowly accelerate. I was going at a rate of speed of around 30mph, 1/4 of tank of gas, & driving for about 10 mins before incident. Chrysler isn't taking this issue seriously. I have been in contact w/ them on a Corp. Level as well. The Renegade has had 3 more incidents of losing power when accelerating in a turn from a stop. I fear for my life & am stuck w/ an untrustworthy new vehicle.
