I purchased the vehicle from I-10 Dodge in Indio, CA on 3/6/2020. I had no problems whatsoever and put around 1000 miles on it over the last two months or so. I went to a friend's mobile home on Saturday, pulled into her carport, killed the engine and went into the home. I looked out of the window and saw smoke pouring out of the engine compartment. I called 911, but the fire was so hot, it set the carport on fire, part of the mobile home and totally destroyed the vehicle in under eight minutes from the time I saw the smoke to the moment when the fire department put out the fire. I was uninjured but pretty upset.

The car had been driving well, no strange noises or smells, no display on the console indicating a problem, nothing. Happy no one was hurt. Follow-up: I had ordered an extra key fob from I-10 Dodge when I bought the car. They special-ordered it and called to tell me it was ready. I went to the dealership the same day of the fire and the key fob was not ready because they hadn't programmed it yet. The dealership has refused to refund my money for the key fob ($205) despite me never taking possession of it or ever being able to use it since the vehicle was destroyed. I pointed out that they just sold me a car that burst into flames and set my friend's house on fire and they said to go through my insurance. If insurance doesn't reimburse me, I'm taking them to small claims court.
