Wife was driving the Jeep; she arrived at her location and couldn't put the car into park. The shifter would not engage, therefore she could not remove the key. I took the jeep to Shaver Jeep in Thousand Oaks California, where the mechanic laughed and told me he's seen this before. He popped the knob off the gearshift and pulled out a plastic pin (Detent Rod). It was a piece of plastic about the size of a bic stik pen. I was told it would cost $400.00 to repair. I asked Chrysler to help me but they just put me through the ringer. I finally noticed it was about the size of a ballpoint pen with the inkpoint removed. I tried this out and it worked. I now keep a couple extra bic stikpens in my glovebox in the event my current pen fails me. The repair cost me less than 10 cents. Chrysler doesn't care about customer service, they wasted so much of my time; they should have just given me the damn part. it cant cost more than a cent to them. I love Jeeps, but Chrysler can go to hell
