Let me say I've owned this Jeep since new and have had problems with it since the beginning. First the dealership fixed it saying it was the resistor. So a few years later it happens again, so I bought an OEM resistor and replaced it. Didn't work. I'm a mechanic in the Army and I enjoy fixing things so I figured I would fix it. I pull the panel that has the three switches in it (fan speed/ temperature/ level selector) and find the fan speed switch itself melted. So I go to order a fan speed switch and find that for an 05/06 model year you can't order just the fan speed switch, you have to get the whole panel with all three switches for $160. I've already replaced it twice and have to replace it again. It's getting annoying and expensive

So my TJ would only operate the blower on level 3, nothing else worked.
I googled the problem and found the most common fix was to replace the Blower Resistor, I purchased on on e-Bay for $20 and installed it myself. You dont need to be a mechanic to do this repair, you just have to be patient as the resistor is up, behind the glove box. Nice and easy repair, and now the blower works on all levels.
