when i drive the vehicle, i goes into this shaky mode where i have to completely stop the car and restart it. this happens if i hit any kind of bump. I brake every bump that i see hoping it will stop but today is got so bad i could not move. Also the braking for driving down a curvy mountain. I almost got in multiple accidents this week

Bought my jeep in July. On 6 different occasions now it starts vibrating really bad. I can't get it to stop, can't steer it. I've heard of the death wobble and I'm pretty sure this is what's happening. I have an appointment Tuesday August 24 to put a new stabilizer on it. Has there been a recall on my jeep that wasn't fixed properly. It's a dangerous situation when it happens because I have no control over my vehicle at all. I've been lucky so far that it's happened in places that there were no other vehicles in front of me. There's no way I could stop if there was. I have no way of knowing if the stabilizer will fix the problem.

For the second time a brake line has broken causing brake failure while driving. I called Jeep and was told there has been no recall and the dealership's service department takes no responsibility. My daughter was driving around a circle at a major highway intersection when the brakes failed. I guess a certain number of people must die before a recall is made. Have had an electrical issue with blinkers since I owned the car. When turning off blinker when changing lanes, the opposite blinker comes on. Trying to turn that side off, then makes the other side come back on. It takes going back and forth for a few times before it will just turn off.

ABS unit failed. Yellow dashboard warning light illuminated. Red brake warning light was not illuminated. The brake pedal when pushed traveled to the floor. Front wheel brakes became completely inoperative as verified by jacking up the front wheels and testing. Rear brakes still operated, but minimally. Suspect the ABS unit fails by sticking in a faulty bypass state that disables most of the braking capacity, instead of a fail-safe fault mode.

The contact owns a 2007 Jeep Wrangler. While driving at 10 mph, the brakes failed without warning as a result, the contact collided with another vehicle. No injuries occurred and a police report was not filed. A few weeks later, while driving at 20 mph and approaching a red light, the brake system failed again without warning. On one occasion, the contact collided with the vehicle in front of her and experienced front end damage. The air bags did not deploy upon collision. No injuries were sustained by either driver, no medical attention was needed. A police report was filed which stated that the failure was due to a defective brake line which caused brake failure. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where the vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The contact received a recall notice for the vehicle regarding the brake line, however, the contact did not have the VIN available to verify the recall. The failure mileage was approximately 160,000.

I was driving down the road on the way home I went around the corner and hit my brakes they were there then they faded away causing me to hit a pole. I had the Jeep taken to my home and waited until I got enough money to have it worked on once the mechanic started working on it they noticed a brake line problem and told me that was what caused the accident and it was a recall and this should be taken to a dealer which I did and they refused any responsibility. * (recall related incident)

Suspension failure: I've had issues with my steering column since having bought this vehicle. About a week ago my gear box fell out of the vehicle causing loss of steering control. Bought the car used. Had plenty of oil and based on the date and miles from the previous oil change had about 600 miles left before needed an oil change. No light came on no gage informed us that I was low on oil and my engine seized, I replaced the engine $6000 later and now the brake hose started shooting oil all over my rear tires while driving on a state highway and nearly crashed having absolutely no brakes. Please tell me who is responsible for this death trap. If it is me than I am going to all local news stations to make sure everyone knows how dangerous these Jeep are

My Jeep lost all power and brakes while driving. The ABS and brake lines are charred throughout the entire vehicle from overheating and the main wiring harness was damaged as well. The vehicle is currently and national Dodge jacksonville nc awaiting repairs. Mike in the service department says the ABS overheated but no fire but another mechanic I had look at it said there was a small fire.

Incidents of engine stall; airbag non-deployment; random horn, headlight, taillight, door lock, instrument panel and windshield wiper activity; failure of fuel pump shutoff resulting in unintended acceleration; and fires. All the dash back lights come off and on randomly especially the heater controls. Air bag light is always on. Air bag light and beeper flash and beep all the time and no mechanic does not know what to do about it. Very flushterating to drive w airbag beeping. No resale value due to all the above things. Will you buy it? horn has now stopped working and lights behind the heater do not work either.

The warning light for the brake assist, airbag & stability control light up. Took it to the shop and was told that the clock spring was faulty that is why the lights come on. The cost to repair the clock spring is over $800. All it does is make it so the warning lights turn off, so I have chosen not to repair it. This is a common problem with the jk Wrangler. The problem is if there really is an issue then I won't know because the light is always on. I feel that Jeep should repair this as a recall.

Shortly before taking vehicle in for brakes, the ABS/esp/bas and traction lights came on. Repair shop stated this would reset after brakes replacement. It did not. Now the lights are on all the time. I have no ABS, no traction control and vehicle is all over the road in inclement conditions. Also the wipers won't turn off after car is turned off and key is removed. They operate on low or high no intermittent. The fluid works and the rear wipers and fluid works, but the wipers wont turn off unless I remove the fuse. And now the cruise control will not work. I was told the tipm is bad, but looking at reviews online. It seems like this is a safety concern for all these issues and should be cause for recall.

This vehicle was classified as having excellent off-road capabilities. After it's first Excursion off-road, the clutch throwout bearing was found to be rattling and had come apart. A full clutch replacement was completed with all new components by a licensed and certified mechanic with excellent outcome. 1 month after the clutch replacement the clutch pedal suddenly went to the floor and would not release the clutch. Replacement of the clutch slave, master and hydraulic line as well as a full hydraulic fluid flush yielded no success even with pressure and vacuum applications to bleed the system. This failure of plastic parts designed for off-road applications is a major safety issue. This system is fed by the brake fluid reservoir and could compromise the braking system if it fails. Numerous tsb's and a possible recall were noted but the dealer notified me that the VIN was not covered under the recall even though it was within the scope of the recall covered years, make and model. Will have Jeep finish the repair at no cost since it seems to be a flawed design.

The technician verified the failure and stated that the brake hose needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileage was 76,000.

Over time the stock L/F tire rubbed through the brake line causing the L/F caliper to lock up wearing down the L/F brake pads and overheating the rotor. The brake hose, caliper, brake pads and front brake rotors needed to be replaced. I had an independent mechanic look at this and he believes it is a defect in the design on the vehicle. The stock L/F tire should never touch the brake line within the turning radius of the vehicle. I was very lucky that I didn't travel very far with the caliper locked on the wheel, it could of led to a fire. Chrysler did not claim any fault and charged me for the repair. I have found other similar complaints posted online.
