I bought this vehicle used with 76,500 miles. Really like the Jeep for what it is, but this issue is so annoying! I have an extended warranty, so stay tuned for final outcome. A local transmission expert told me that Chrysler Jeep has a bulletin out to replace the synchros. They also stated parts are out 7-10 weeks. Makes sense this was built at the start of the country's economic down turn. A lot of the auto supply manufacturers went out of business.

It was a 35 k piece of sh*t..and when I would bring it to the dealer they gave me a f*cking yaris as a loaner !!!!

After having major engine issues for a while(I posted it on here already), I was driving one day and felt a couple little jolts in the transmission. They were hardly noticeable and didn't continue so I just kept it in the back of my mind for the time being. Days later again, then again, until one day it started jolting and bucking a lot on an uphill climb. I let off the throttle and then back on and it was worse. It got to the point where every time I go uphill or just accelerate slightly, the transmission started bucking and jolting really bad. It is the torque converter slipping in and out repeatedly. The only solution while driving is to accelerate enough to make it downshift. It will not downshift on it's own without additional throttle. This is even an issue. If I accelerate too much it drops 2 gears and revs up really high and the transmission does not engage at all. I have to find the sweet spot in between to get it to down shift one gear. I found a technical service bulletin on this. TSB: 21-001-08 REV. B It's called Torque Converter Shudder. I contacted my local dealer and they want $1800 to put in a new torque converter and reprogram the PCM or I can get a new toque converter for $96 and the dealer will reprogram the PCM for $98. I will be doing the latter.
