I am up to Battery 3 in this Jeep from new the battery is an Optima D31A the only battery that will fit.
This battery is AGM (absorption Glass Matt)which requires a charge of 14.4 Volts the Jeep voltage regulator puts out 13.6 Volts so the battery will never recover and will fail over a short life.
The problem is known and not been resolved.
The regulator has to be changes in the Alternater to resolve the issue or the fiting of a Sterling Power Alternator Regulator Pro Reg B to the Jeep to correctly charge and condition the battery to last.
