The contact owns a 2008 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that when fuel was added to the vehicle, about one to two gallons flowed back out of the vehicle. The failure occurred a few seconds after the pump stopped. There were times when the fuel would run down the side of the vehicle and into the exhaust. The contact called the dealer who offered no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 39,000 and the current mileage was approximately 43,000.

The contact owns a 2008 Jeep Wrangler. While adding fuel to the vehicle it spilled over and out of the fuel tank. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who stated that there was no fix for the failure. The manufacturer was contacted and a claim was filed. The failure mileage was 27,000.

When filling up at the gas station, the gas will back splash out of the filler tube when it fills up. The gas tank does not allow for the air to disperse when filling it up. This is a safety issue and needs to be a recall ! if you are not aware of this happening you will get gasoline on you if you are near the fuel nozzle.

When filling the vehicle with gasoline and setting the gas pump to auto shut-off, the vehicle will not activate the auto shut-off resulting in gasoline blowing out of the fuel opening. This problem has happened three times so far and resulted in gasoline spilling onto my pants, shoes, side of vehicle, bumper and ground. This problem is dangerous to persons, damage to the vehicle and is an envirnomental issue.
