problem #2

Wrangler U Rubicon 3.8L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 77,000 miles

My sway bar was broke open before I bought my 08 Rubicon... I got a sport sway bar but now the sway bar lights flashes all the time. I still have my original sway bar but don't feel comfortable driving with it disconnected.

problem #1

Dec 002010

Wrangler Rubicon V6

  • Manual transmission
  • 50,000 miles

The part now costs 2500.00 plus whatever to install. It is a design flaw that Jeep denies. The problem is the design and even if you replace it it will just get wet again unless you water seal it or flip the mechanism to the top instead of the bottom if you are that mechanically talented. You can drown out this mechanism by washing the car too much, driving over deep puddles or God forbid taking your Rubi off road. I am not sure why no one else has reported this sway bar issue it is irritating and even if you replace it with a manual one as I did you are forever haunted by the flashing sway bar warning light. Maybe they have not realized that the battery draining, alarm randomly going off, erratic light operation while driving, vehicle stalling, not starting etc. are all a result of this unit getting wet and creating random electrical problems. Once disconnected all other issues disappeared -funny.
