3rd battery in three years
I ordered this vehicle brand new, it is a 2012 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited rubicon. At about 20k miles the radio started acting up, it would switch to different screens and start doing things like it was possessed. That got replaced with a new radio, the navigation on the new radio has never ever worked. I wasn't real worried about that until the battery died a few thousand miles later. I had to put a battery in it, but I was recently on a business trip and parked it at the airport for five days. I came back and it wouldn't start. Jumped it, got it home and take it to Chrysler. They claim the battery is bad. Now, this is the third battery in 3 years, I used to be an ASE certified mechanic, Chrysler tells me this is normal, even if I hadn't been a mechanic, I'm not an idiot. Other issue was the parking brake stopped working at about 25k miles. I have the extended warranty, apparently the badly stretched cable and bad lever can only be replaced "next time" under warranty. So I got charged an hour labor for an adjustment that required them trying to repair the parking brake. Not to mention 260 dollars for the normal wear and tear on the battery, if you have forgotten this is now the third battery in as many years, normal right? Other problems include it runs poorly, feels like it will die at stoplights, standard interior stuff falling apart. Seals for the soft top not staying in place. General malaise with this vehicle, at $40,000 plus, I would have expected something better.
