This problem may be covered under warranty. Ask your Jeep dealer.
Very surprised that the radiator on my 2014 split it's seam and I had to have it replaced. The extended warranty covered it.

I have a 2014 Jeep Saraha Unlimited 37000 miles smelled anti freeze for awhile began seeing red fluid on garage floor. I took the Jeep to the dealer today was told I needed a new radiator not under warranty ($800 cost) complained that is ridiculous that a auto with such low milage would need a radiator. Note that I had the oil changed several times since we bought our Jeep and no one ever mention any cooling system problems but many times filters or air cleaner or other money making solutions. I asked to talk to someone higher up on the chain of the Chrysler Corp. tech said he would contact the service manager and was told later that Chrysler would cover the repair. I feel the dealer neglected to identify the problem and repair it during the oil changes. After reading several complaints by other Jeep owners seems this is an on going problem with the Jeep Wrangler and should be investigated further and issue a recall on their product of which they advertise as reliable.
Happy the repair was taken care of but disappointed with dealer and Chrysler Corp. seemed like a money making plan to me.

Wrangler had slight smell of antifreeze. Had Dealer check it out but said there were no signs of leakage. Took back to Dealer a few months later with same issue. Now they found leaking of the radiator & thermostat housing. This Jeep only has 50,000 miles on it and is not abused in anyway. Asked what causes this at 53,000 miles and was told 'I Dunno'. Well then was told that the warranty doesn't cover it and that I could get it fixed for around $800'.

3 year old car, 4 radiators replaced. I'm seeing complaints of leaking radiators on several forums but no recall. Replaced first radiator through dealer under warranty at year 2. When second radiator failed, Jeep refused to fix under warranty because the replacement radiator was "free" i.e. no charge to me since it was covered under warranty. Had to replace with a third radiator from Mishimoto. The third radiator lasted 3 months. Mishimoto has a lifetime warranty. Spoke with them today and they stated this is a known issue with Jeeps from '07 on. Looks like they're doing their own R&D to find a fix because Chrysler isn't interested. Apparently it's a "jitter" problem that loosens everything up, cracks and then causes leaks. At this point, unless or until Chrysler issues a recall and/or a permanent fix, looks like radiator will need to be replaced frequently.

I bought the Jeep at 13,000 miles and from day 1 I smelled antifreeze, never could find any leaks or puddles in the driveway. Took the Jeep to a shop for an oil leak (which happened to be the oil filter / oil cooler housing, another complaint but fixed under power train warranty) and they noticed the seam on the bottom of the radiator leaking. Luckily I had an extended warranty that replaced it no charge. Not sure if that is covered by Chrysler power train or not. I had 61,000 miles but this was certainly occurring at 13,000.

Wrangler had slight smell of antifreeze. Dealer said there was a small leak around the thermostat housing. Brought into the dealer at a different date to have fix. They stated (and showed me) that the radiator was leaking at a seam. This Jeep only has 50,000 miles on it and is not abused in anyway. Asked what causes this at 50,000 miles and was told 'I Dunno, maybe the radiator was bouncing around'. Well then was told that the warranty doesn't cover it and that I could get it fixed for around $800'.

I will be installing the 4th radiator in my wife's Jeep soon due to a leaking radiator (not covered under power train 100k mile warranty). It always leaks on the driver's side where the plastic tanks are connected to the aluminum core. I found the actual manufacturer of the OE radiator, so I was able to replace the original for much cheaper. That one had a leak within the 1 year warranty, so I got the 3rd for free. However, it is a pain in the a$$ to do. The 3rd is now leaking (after a year) and I am looking into a better aftermarket (full aluminum) radiator, as there is clearly something wrong with the OE spec'd one. I have a friend who has been fortunate enough to get his 6th replaced under warranty!
