Jeep "ticked" from the first day I got it brand new with 15 miles on it. I asked several mechanics and they said that was normal.121000 miles later cam shaft failed . One lobe completely gone. Now mechanic said I need a new engine. What a pain in the rear. They won't do anything else except that. Why. Maybe Jeep needs to look at that. I use it daily to work from can't stop to have this done. So now I have to rent a vehicle.

A vehicle that is only a bit over a year old when purchased with 18k on it should not have what sounds like a lifter tick on a cold start for 5+ seconds and intermittently when slightly warm. Possibly is a valve timing issue, but other articles on internet show the 2010-2015 models had to have heads replaced to solve issue. Supposedly the 2016 model year engine underwent some revamping, but alas, still finding this issue on scattered articles on the internet.. What's the fix Chrysler??? And when will this be a damn actual recall!?!?

Jeep owners would like Jeep/Chrysler/Fiat to acknowledge that a Jeep should nor experience a rocker arm failure and engine ticking noise. Jeep Forum, numerous You Tube video complaints/vehicle fix are rampant. It is not random. It is a design flaw.
