As soon as it started getting cold in Massachusetts, I noticed that the car heater wasn't throwing as much heat on the driver side as it was on the passenger side. I looked at the coolant overflow tank and it was low so I added coolant to the system. I brought the Jeep to my local mechanic for an oil change and asked him about it and he said that it might be a heater core issue, and that some of the jeeps he and his workers worked on in the past had casting sand in the engine and that it usually clogs up the heater core first. And that I should take my lease back to the dealer and have it fixed, being that it was a lease and under warranty.
Fast forward, I bring the jeep back to Colonial Jeep in Hudson MA and they offer to fix it for $600.00+ and I state that this vehicle is a lease and that it should be covered. He states its not covered and I tell him to button it up and I will talk to the manager. Well, long story short, the manager talks to the service guy who informs him that I caused the problem by using the wrong coolant maybe the wrong color). After calling Jeep corporate and recalling Colonial Jeep in Hudson MA I got no satisfaction. I wanted to purchase this vehicle after the lease but now it looks like I won't be doing that. Sadly, I still like my Jeep. Any suggestions?
