This is regarding what's known in the Jeep community as the 'death wobble.' I bought my car brand new in September of 2018, and I've experienced the death wobble. I'll be on the freeway, driving 65+ mph, all of the sudden hit a bump or rumble in the road and then lose control of my steering. The Jeep starts vibrating (wobbling) uncontrollably. The only way to stop this is by slowing down enough to come to a stop, which can prove difficult and dangerous on the freeway. This is something I feel should be fixed. My car has never been in an accident, has all new parts since I bought it brand new and shouldn't have this problem.

I purchased on September 14, 2018 that has what is called the "death wobble". it only occurs when driving over 60 miles an hour. It is caused by a faulty steering damper. I brought it in for the first time in December 4, 2018 when I could not gain control of the car and almost wrecked. It was the 6 time it had happened. The car was seized immediately, it was a safety issue. I was told to clean the car out and they couldn't tell me when I would have it returned. I also was having them check the brakes as they had been squeaking. I did not receive the car back until January 8 2019. At that time, I was told it was fine. The brakes continued to squeak and when it snowed, I found out the defroster was not in working order. I was told the defroster part was on back order (still not fixed and its April 1, 2019) and they grinded the pads or rotors due to a glaze on them. The brakes were soft and still squeaking. On February 20 they said they would order new brakes. March 1, brakes locked up and I almost wrecked. I pumped them and they worked after that. I immediately drove the car there and left it. The brakes were replaced, and I picked the car up on the March 7, 2019. March 16, 2019 I was going over the bridge at 65 miles an hour and the "death wobble" started again. I asked my husband to drive it and it did it to him as well at about 65 miles an hour as he went over a bump. We left town on Sunday March 17 and did not return until the 22. On March 23, 2019 we brought the car in. The technician confirmed it was the steering wheel damper was faulty again. To this day I still do not have the car and have been told that they have a "new" part. This will be the 3rd time. Ddocuments, do not show every time I was in there nor what was really happening. It said my brakes were soft and didn't mention that they locked up and seized to work.

Trying to avoid a large dirt clump left in the road by the road maintenence crew I swerved to the left at 35 miles an hour and the esm/ESC light came on and the Jeep took over the car I could not apply the brakes or control the steering the speed did not deminish and the vehicle crossed an intersection rolling up an embankment so that the front of the Jeep went in the air and came down hard causing the frame to break and the front axle to bend. If I could have at least been able to control the steering I could have turned in the direction I had intended to go this could have been avoided. Jeep is now trying to fix the control system after the damage was repaired. The light remained on even after the Jeep stopped. I see others have had trouble with this system. I had a 2012 rubicon that had trouble with this system and took it to the dealer numerous times and they could not find the problem so I traded off for another vehicle. This also cause me a broken back. The seat belt was deployed and the air bags did not deploy.I was on a county road and was going to turn left onto another county road but could not turn the wheel.these roads are dirt and were just graded leaving loose dirt and ice which were not there when I had traveled this road about 2 hours earlier. I was in two wheel drive and have fount blogs where others have had this problem and that you should turn the system off on dirt roads.

On cold mornings while parked, the brake will not depress and the car will not start. After multiple attempts or after the car warms up, it will start. This has happened on multiple occasions. On christmas morning after finally getting the car to start, the steering wheel locked up while I was driving on the highway (65 mph) on a straightaway. It happened twice that day. I was told until they can duplicate it, they cannot fix it. I do not feel safe in this vehicle.

"takata recall" - while coming off the interstate, I started braking because vehicles were stopped at the top of the exit ramp to turn onto the overpass (highway). The vehicle would not stop. On three separate times the brakes did not function proper. They would not grip. Felt light hydro-plaining or like they would not lock. The vehicle had more than enough distance to stop and I was braking before I left the interstate. On the third try, the brakes failed again, causing an accident. My son was in the vehicle and kept asking why we were not slowing down and stopping. The vehicle did slow down, but not enough or in enough time.

Driving on highway, when trying to slow down and applying brakes vehicle was veering to the right. Almost went off road and hit guard rail. Vehicle also has an issue with steering on straight aways wants to wander all over highway, had tires/wheels/and alignment inspected everything came back fine no answer for why vehicle wanders and vehicle constantly goes right while braking

This is the second time the vehicle has experienced a total computer failure while it was being driven. My fiance' was driving this time and lost power steering, brake assist, as well as the ability to shift gears or even turn off the engine. As before, indications are a complete failure of the can network - multiple cels and error messages, from fuel low to TPMS fail to electronic start stop disabled to check shiftier, as well as a loss of power steering and the engine going into limp mode. The first time this happened I was doing 70mph on the freeway. It occurred at night, thankfully, as it caused me to swerve between lanes during the sudden loss of power/steering assist. If it had been during rush hour, I would have hit another vehicle. This time the computer failed while in a parking garage. Thankfully it occurred after turning into a straight away as my fiance' took the entire length to stop due to the loss of breaking; she blew through a pedestrian walkway and could not stop and, if it had happened during a turn, she most likely would have hit a car or hit the edge of the parking garage. Both times we were very lucky that we did not have an accident that resulted in major damage or a fatality. Jeep has found 2 electrical wiring problems so far with this Jeep and obviously there are additional wiring defects present in the vehicle.

The contact owns a 2018 Jeep Wrangler. While driving at any speed, the brakes made squeaking noises when the brake pedal was depressed. The contact noticed a burning odor and smoke coming from the brakes. There was no warning indicator illuminated. The failures recurred several times. The vehicle was taken to South hills Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram Fiat (3344 Washington rd, mcmurray, pa 15317, 724-941-4300) where the contact was informed that there were no failures with the vehicle. The manufacturer was made aware of the failures and did not assist. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 243.

My vaccum booster failed. My son was driving my Jeep that only has 2000 miles on it. He was driving in dry warm condition. He drove in the suburbs on a main street. He hit the brakes and nothing happened which caused him to rear end someone. Edr report has been done. Insurance has investigated and well. Unfortunately Chrysler wont own up to the fact that the vaccum booster was faulty.
