While driving northbound on I-275 to tampa from sarasota with my wife and newborn son, the vehicle began shaking violently after going over a bumpy part of the road around a curve of the highway. This continued until I pulled my foot off the gas and allowed the vehicle to slow 10-15 mph.

My wife experienced started experiencing the harmonic frequency anomaly aka "death wobble" just as the weather started to get cooler in NJ. I brought vehicle in to perform the tsb on 11/15. The very next day 11/16 the death wobble came back only this time much worse! she was heading to a 4H leadership training course with a car full of children, thankfully she was able to maintain control and pull off the side of the highway which in itself it not safe to do. The fix that fca has published does not work - NHTSA do your job investigate and mandate fca fix the issue not put a band aid on a broken leg.

While driving down the road at 60mph+ my Jeep goes into the death wobble when I hit a rough patch in the road. This is not a bump in the road but a rough patch! this has happened to me many times and it is extremely scary! I have to slow down to around 40mph to make it stop shaking side to side so violently I can hardly keep it on the road. I have already been in and had the upgrade done to my steering damper. I was driving my Jeep on the highway at 65mph and drove over a seam(bump) in the road. The front wheels and steering wheel began the shake violently and uncontrollably. I had to bring the vehicle to a complete stop in order for the shaking to stop. Finding a place to come to a complete stop on the highway is not safe at all.

I was driving down the highway when my Jeep Wrangler jl hit a bump and the car started shaking uncontrollably and it was very difficult to drive. I wasn't sure what was happening so I slowed down significantly in case I needed to pull over. The shaking then stopped but after about 15-20 seconds. Not less that a mile down the road did this exact same thing happen again after I hit a bump. It lasted just as long and didn't stop until I slowed down significantly. I believe this is related to an issue with the front suspension and steering column.

I bought this brand new and did not modify it. A few months after purchase, it started violently shaking after I hit a bump at highway speeds. On 3/7/19, the dealership replaced the steering wheel dampener. It still wasn't fixed so I brought it in again on 4/12/19 and they replaced the same part. It seemed to fix it for the most part but now it's back to the violently shaking at highway speeds. I have an appointment on Thursday 11/7/19 for them to fix it again so I can drive my brand new car. I have read that this is not a safety issue, but I assure you it is. I can't control the steering wheel until I slow down to about 45. Going from 65 to 45 on a highway while the whole car is shaking is in fact a hazard. I am going to request copies of my service contracts when I get to the dealership on Thursday. If you should need them, I can send them to you.

Just had the steering damper recall performed - never had any wobble issues before completing the recall. I completed the recall as I thought that was what good car owners do. Now, just 3 days later I am experiencing the wobble at highway speeds. Very scary! had the entire family in the car coming home from dinner - did not hit any irregular bumps or anything out of the norm. Was driving on the highway on a stretch we drive almost daily and out of nowhere, just hitting some "normal" Michigan road bumps the steering wheel and front end started shaking. It eventually stopped itself - but then happened 5 more times. We did not know what was going on as we were not aware of the issue or even why there was a recall repair. After getting home and searching the internet I found all sorts of complaints and the reasoning behind the recall. Ironically again, I did not have the issue before I had the recall work completed. After reading the article I immediately left a message for my service manager at the dealership and then looked under the Jeep to confirm that in-fact the part was replaced and had the correct part number. I do want to mention that even before the wobble I did mention to my wife and notice that I thought that the steering was a bit more "loose" after getting the car back. Not sure if that is relevant, but thought I would note that here as well.

I experienced rapid steering oscillation this last Thursday 10/17/19 on my 2018 Wrangler jlu (not lifted) while taking a trip out of town. We hit a railroad track at around 55 mph and it went full-on rapid steering oscillation (death wobble). Had to pull off the road and stop the vehicle for the dw to stop. Stopped by an out of town dealer in paso robles, ca and they said the recently replaced (recall V41) steering stabilizer was installed upside down. I have now ordered a new rubicon express track bar and fox 2.0 stabilizer to see if this will help eliminate the wobble. I've owned two jk Jeep Wrangler in the past and didn't experience any of oscillation. *purchased new 2018 jlu Wrangler from dealer last month. The mileage at the time of the event was approximately 1,400 miles.

When going over a bump at highway speeds the vehicle sometimes starts to shake violently with the steering wheel and entire vehicle wobbling uncontrollably. The only way to bring the vehicle back under control is to slow down or sometimes bring it to a complete stop. This creates a very dangerous situation when on the expressway and you have to slow down or stop from going 75 mph with traffic. The dealer has put in two different steering dampers and the problem is still there. It is not safe to drive on the highway.

Driving along highway speeds, 70-75mph and hit slightly uneven terrain (the lip from a bridge onto the highway) the vehicle began shaking uncontrollably. This continued for a while until I eventually was forced to slow down by pulling towards the shoulder. I have researched this problem and I can see numerous people calling it by the term "Jeep death wobble". the issue is roughly the exact same as everyone else. My vehicle has been checked by the dealer and they state they serviced it by replacing the steering damper however the issue has still continued after that. It is random however extremely scary when traveling at highway speeds and having the vehicle uncontrollably shake until you have to slow down, which is not easy to do on a busy highway.
