Wrangler Sahara 3.6L V6 Pentastar

  • Automatic transmission
  • 79,536 miles

I had a paid off Fully loaded Jeep Wrangler, I had just invested 5k CAD in a set of 5 new 35" tires and Rims, and just replaced all brakes and rotors. This occurred 28km out of warranty. At the discovery of the filings through out the engine, my only real option was to replace. Very in-conveniently the Pentastar production plant in the US was in their 2nd month of striking, with 700 engines on back-order. As a single mother, I needed to get my vehicle back on the road to get to work. I purchased a used engine with 18,000km from a 2021 Gladiator.

Fast forward 2.5 months, and approximately 5,000km... and it happened again 2 weeks ago - and this time its worse. I am now forced to buy a NEW engine (the only one available in Ontario). This is an additional hit of 11k USD. I will keep it for a while to figure things out - but will be selling within the year and my 23 years of running Wranglers - will be OVER with a very bad taste in my mouth. Jeep should be ashamed.
