My Jeep has has experienced the death rattle over the last 6 months. Originally it would only happen every month or so when I got over 75 MPH. However in December after I put in an order with my service center for the part to fix it (which took 6+ weeks to arrive), the rattle got so bad that it would happen every time I got on the highway and would sometimes happen under speeds of 50. There was one time that I drove 45 each way to the airport and rattle happened over 10 times.

When I accelerate over 55 mph, the front end of my jeep shakes violently, so violently I can barely hold onto the steering wheel. When driving in the fast lane on the freeway, going 65-70 mph, it shakes so badly that I almost lose control of the vehicle. I am fearful that one day, I will crash and hurt (or kill) myself, my occupants, and/or other persons in surrounding vehicles. I have reached out to my dealer and they tell me that Jeep has known about this issue, they even call it the "death wobble" - yet they do not have the parts to fix it. My car is still under warranty and I am getting no help from the dealer, they tell me it will be 2-3 months before the part comes in and there are multiple people in line ahead of me so the wait to fix it could be even longer. There are no warning lamps or messages. The symptoms began approximately 6 months ago and continue every day.

On Jan. 27, 2023, I was driving my 2021 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited (31,440 miles on the odometer) on the interstate, going about 65-70 mph in high volume traffic. Suddenly my right front tire started wobbling like it was going to fall off! I have never experienced anything like this. I was extremely frightened, fearing I might have a wreck or cause someone else to wreck if control of my Jeep were lost. My heart beat sped up, my hands clinched the steering wheel. I was able to slow down and the wobble went away but my anxiety did not go away. It happened about 4 more times that day on the interstate. I was traveling and concerned about my safety and that of others. I was also concerned about what was happening with my Jeep, how could I fix it, COULD it be fixed, and how was I going to pay for it. I thought the front end of my Jeep needed to be re-aligned so I took it to the dealership I bought it from, they inspected it and said it did not alignment. Said the Jeep had developed a "wobble." I was told that parts to fix this issue were not available in the U.S. and they had no ETA on when/if a part would be available. They took my phone number and said they would call if something changed. Now I have a Jeep that I am afraid of - actually terrified of. I only drive on the city streets and stay away from the interstate. My life has been limited in so many way because of this issue. I was not issued any paperwork on this problem.

I have had my 2021 Jeep Wrangler 4xe for approximately 14 months and have a little over 16,000 miles. My vehicle is now experiencing what is commonly known as the "Jeep Death Wobble". The vehicle will begin to shake violently, especially at higher speeds. It has become nearly impossible to control and is an ongoing issue. My local dealership has been unable and unwilling to fix the problem rapidly.

While turning at low speeds (pulling into a parking spot) and the cruise control is turned on the "set cruise" button is elevated and can be accidentally hit. If the speed of the vehicle is under 20mph it will automatically set the cruise speed to 20mph causing the vehicle to accelerate. This elevated "set cruise" button actives the regular cruise and not the adaptive cruise. This has happened to me over a dozen times. I am lucky it has not caused a wreck.

-€œdeath wobble-€ - axle begins shaking at a very fast pace, causing the car to shake in an uncontrollable manner. If you are going over 45 and hit the slightest bump It feels as if we have little to no control over the vehicle when this is happening. I have taken it in many times but the part is on back over.

Jeep has a seriously dangerous issue when you hit a bump on the highway, other online call it a -€œdeath wobble-€, extremely dangerous, started happened around 21000 miles on ours. Only way to get it to stop shaken is to stop the vehicle. I have several videos of this occurring and would be happy to send them, this app won-€™t allow videos to be uploaded. I called the dealer to have the issue looked at, no recall has been issued yet according to our dealer.

I was driving on a highway at between 60 & 65 mph, the wheels crossed an expansion joint in the highway and the steering started vibrating and violently and shaking from side to side. It felt like both wheels were bouncing long after I crossed the joint in the road. I almost lost control of the vehicle. I had to slow down and upon doing so the shaking abated.

When driving at high speeds and hit a bump the vehicle's front suspension starts wobbling and keeps it up till you reduce speed. Not able to drive over 60 MPH, worried the wobble may start from hitting a bump.

On the interstate, my Jeep developed the "death wobble" causing us to have to greatly decrease speed among other drivers. This issue continued after each small bump in the road that we hit at interstate speeds, causing the vehicle to shake violently and requiring me to decrease speed repeatedly among other fast-moving traffic. It eventually required me to have to move over to the slow lane for easy road departure if needed. After an attempted repair with a steering damper at the dealer, the issue returned 1.5 weeks later, and after 2 weeks, my vehicle remains at the dealer while they try to figure out how to correct this dangerous issue.

The contact owns a 2021 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated while driving at speeds exceeding 70 MPH, the vehicle started to shake and vibrate violently. After reducing the speed to 55 MPH the shaking ceased and the vehicle operated normally. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The local dealer was notified of the failure and indicated that the failure might have been caused by a faulty steering dampener, but the part was on backorder. The manufacturer was not yet contacted. The failure mileage was 16,000.

I have a 2021 Sahara Wranger with only 11,000 miles and is only 16mths old, all stock. On November 11, 2021 is the first time experiencing the so called death wobble. I hit a divot from a recessed reflector that lines the yellow lines in the road. I was going only 55 when I only drove over two, when suddenly my steering wheel and while Jeep started shaking violently. I let my foot off the accelerator, letting the Jeep slow down to under 50 when it finally stopped. It was very frightening to me and my daughter and called the dealership immediately to report the issue and was very nervous to drive it again. After inspection at the dealership I was told they couldn-€™t find a problem so I took off feeling maybe it was just a freak thing. But then a month later the same thing happened, but this time I was coming down a steep grade around 60mph when there was a small divot that I ran over and again the steering wheel shacking violently and the whole Jeep shaking worse then the first time. I tried not to break and let my foot off the accelerator again, but this time the Jeep wouldn-€™t slow down by its self because I was going down hill. I thought I was going to loose control of the vehicle and crash. Shaking, I pulled over and called the dealership immediately. I told them I was afraid to drive the vehicle and I wanted it taken care of immediately. I had to have my husband drive it to the dealership for me, because I was to scared. After hours and hours or research on the internet, I don-€™t understand why this hasn-€™t been recalled. It is a serious safety issue and needs to be addressed. My Jeep has now been in the shop for three days, and I have not been given and information on what they are doing about it. I have read many many articles on how the dealership will just use a bandaid to fix it and it will happen again. I-€™m not sure if I can feel safe ever driving it again. This is a band new vehicle and everyone with this 2021 model should be contacted and told about this

At highway speeds after hitting a pothole, small bump, or bridge transition the vehicle begins to shake violently. The steering wheel, and all front end suspension components will shake violently until the vehicle is slowed back down below 40 miles per hour. This has happened multiple times. Looking online this has been encountered by other motorists and is commonly known as the -€œJeep Death Wobble.-€ This is extremely unsafe because it could cause the driver to lose control of the vehicle. It can also cause an accident because once it happens the driver has to immediately slow down to 40. When this happens in the passing lane/multi lane highway with other vehicles behind it could cause a pile up accident. The driver can-€™t anticipate when it will happen.

In late October I started experiencing a total vehicle body "shudder" when driving on the freeway and hitting uneven paving. This condition started getting worse and worse. The car was unmanagable when travelling at a speed over 58 and hitting uneven paving - the shudder took over the entire car and steering. There was no recourse but to try to safely pull over and stop the car. Upon research I found this is a now COMMON OCCURENCE called the DEATH WOBBLE. Generally it happens in modified Jeeps however my car is les than two years old with less than 16,000 miles on it. When I could finally get time at the dealership I was met with, oh yes we had five new jeeps in here just last week with this condition we are seeing it all the time. The part that is supposed to provide remedy is back ordered by at least three weeks - is this as there as so many incidents?. The dealership told me to take my car home until they had a part. The car is NOT SAFE to drive at any accelerated speed with this condition. There was no prior warning of this condition and nor would I expect it in a new vehicle but upon research I am learning how many people are experiencing this and questioning why there has not yet been a recall. The part offered as remedy by the dealership - the steering damper - has been identified as a "band aid" - and that it is likely the condition will re-occur. This is not acceptable or safe for any new Jeep owner (or any Jeep owner) I urge, no I BEG you, to investigate this "death wobble" condition and strongly consider a recall for the manufacturer before there are serious injuries and deaths caused by this. Having personally experienced this it is a terrifying experience - the entire car feels like it is out of control and everything is going to fall off including the tires and that the axle will break - it makes me never want to drive that car again with any degree of confidence and feeling of safety. I urge you to just google DEATH WOBBLE. Please help
