Car bought year old (as program car) with 16K on odometer. Problem did not occur during first winter, but showed up 2nd winter. If not driven daily, battery discharges completely within 3 - 4 days during winter months ONLY (I live in upper Midwest). Replaced battery. Still discharges. Kia dealership and Kia Motor Corp. have no solution ("can't duplicate the problem"). Private shop that deals only in electrical problems can't find the problem. Online, Edmunds Kia Users suggest the radio system amp causes this, but Kia says it has checked it out and found nothing. The only "solution" I've had is to keep a charger on the battery nightly. Luckily, I'm retired and keep the car garaged. But I've given up screwing around with the car and will trade it this fall. NOT on another Amanti, because the new ones are internally exactly like my 2006. A new Amanti could turn out to act just like mine. And NOT on any other Kia or Hyundai vehicle, because Kia Motor Corp. has failed even to acknowledge the problem exists and Hyundai owns Kia.
