While driving my car on March 7th, 2024 around 2:30pm an error message popped up "Stop vehicle and check power supply" and speed of the car was noticeably limited. Thankfully I was able to pull to side of the road and called road side assistance as car was undrivable, the 12 volt battery was completely dead. When tow truck arrived, a jump park was required to put car into neutral in order to get onto tow truck. If this happened in a freeway this could be a risk if we are not able to stop at a safe location. Towing services was able to tow my car to the dealership about 15 minutes away, upon unloading vehicle onto lot, taking an Uber home as no loaners are available, asked the next day about getting car into diagnosis and was told that it would take 2 weeks to get in to be looked at, and now it sits until they are able to diagnose a known problem, even the sales manager at this dealership has had same issue on 3 different EV6's. He assured me they know what to look for when it comes to the issue. After doing some research this issue, it is a well known issue with Hyundai/Kia cars and it looks like the ICCU module needs to be replaced. And Hyundai/Kia EVs and was supposedly addressed in a recall done in late September of last year, yet I have gone back and made a complaint with Kia regarding this issue, but in their eyes it was fixed in the recall. This new issue now goes under same case number associated with the charging interrupted error, where charging stops after 10 mins, took to dealership had the update done and still same issue. Continued to have problems charging on level 2 charger, even at a lowered amps. Lowering the amount that is recommended by the manufacturer and still having the same issue. Thank You.

I was traveling on a neighborhood arterial road, when I heard a load thunk that seemed to come from beneath the rear seat. Moments later, I got a "Check electric vehicle system" warning, followed by "Stop vehicle and check power supply" in the dashboard. After another moment, the power was reduced to a maximum of 25 mph. I turned on the hazard lights because I was no longer able to match the flow of traffic (45 mph). No accident occurred. I was able to limp the car home on slower side streets. At home, I eventually got a "12v battery voltage low" message and the car was unable to move. I had to have the car towed to the dealership. The dealer service folks diagnosed the problem as a failed integrated charging control unit (ICCU). This same problem has been reported by others in the Kia EV forums. Kia Consumer Affairs says 87 of those parts are on backorder in the US with no ETA from Korea. Apparently, the part needs to be manufactured; they don't have them available in a warehouse.
