I recently purchase my 2024 EV9 from Carvana with 9578 miles listed on 12/12/25. Doing my 7 days to purchase this SUV. I had some concerns about the violent wobble when I drove over a bump. With some concerns about this SUV, I google to see if anyone else had this same issue. To my surprise I founded a lot of complaints and ways to resolved the issue. One consumer stated he had his EV9 aligned and reduce some of the wobble but not completely. I drove to Courage KIA in Gastonia NC. When I drove their system performed a per inspection on your vehicle. The alignment was way out of alignment. Had the alignment taken care of however it still a wobble. On 12/24/26 doing the snow and ice storm here in Charlotte, I attempted to make a trip to the store. The roads were wet but no snow or ice was on the roads. However when I hit a bump the rear end violently wobble and the rear end moved to the left and right farther it did before. I thought I was going to spin out of control. Now that I think about the very low mileage on this SUV. This perhaps is why they sold it. ly wobble

The contact owns a 2024 Kia EV9. The contact stated that while driving approximately 20 MPH, there was an abnormal slapping sound coming from the rear passenger-??s side of the vehicle. While observing the tires, the contact became aware that the rear tires were bald, and the steel belts were coming from the inside of the tires. The contact used Fix a Flat inside the tires and was able to drive the vehicle to the residence. The following day, the vehicle was towed to the dealer, and the dealer that it was a known issue with the original tires on the vehicle. The contact was informed that the failure was caused by the battery, causing the vehicle to be too heavy for the vehicle. The inclination, tilt, or angle of suspension components with the shocks, struts, or control arms, known as the CANT, caused the tires to tilt outward approximately 2 or more inches. The dealer diagnosed that the suspension could have failed. The cant, suspension, and tires were replaced, and the wheels were aligned. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, and a case was filed. The failure mileage was 12,668.

2024 Kia EV9 has destroyed two complete tire sets in 4 months (October 2025, January 2026) despite two professional alignments (May 2025, October 2025). Dealer service manager admitted on recorded call (1/7/26) seeing multiple EV9s "under 18,000 miles" destroy tires, confirming fleet-wide pattern. Multiple owner forums report the exact same issue. MY CASE: - [XXX] (11,860 mi): Steering misalignment, independent shop (Town Fair Tire) confirmed alignment issue - June 2025 - Vehicle inspected and tires rotated by authorized Kia dealership - Berlin City in Vermont - October 2025 (22,736 mi): Left rear BLOWOUT while driving. ALL FOUR OEM tires (113 load rating - "correct" per Kia) worn to bare threads. Tires had ~18,000 miles on them. October 2025: Snow tires were installed in October 2025, with 10/32" tread (were driven ~4,000 miles the previous winter). Dealer performed alignment, no before/after documentation provided [XXX] (25,486 mi): Same winter tires that drove 4,000 mi perfectly first winter destroyed in 2,700 mi second winter DEFINITIVE PROOF - Multi-Point Inspection (1/5/26): On 1/5/2026: Rear Left: 1/32" tread (destroyed in 2,700 miles from Oct. When driving between 20-40 mph and hitting a rough patch of road, pothole, expansion joint, or uneven pavement, the vehicle sometimes heavily sways left to right. It takes one to two seconds to stabilize after the swaying. My wife and I both experience it at different times - we say it "feels like a wheel is falling off" because it's so disorienting and concerning. It often happens unexpectedly with road surface that doesn't actually appear to be all that bad. The rear end feels particularly unstable, like the suspension can't control the vehicle's weight when it's swaying. It's not a small vibration - it's a pronounced side-to-side oscillation. Sometimes I need to make steering corrections just to keep the vehicle centered in the lane. This unpredictable swaying makes us nervous about driving in adverse weather conditions. We can't trust how the vehicle will react when hitting unavoidable bumps and road imperfections. We have noticed it over 50mph at times but it is much more rare at this speed -- though when it happens at this speed it is obviously much more concerning. At higher speeds the swaying does not seem as pronounced / dangerous as at lower speeds, thankfully. After researching online, I discovered many other EV9 owners reporting identical suspension problems. Multiple complaints describe the same lateral swaying, porpoising, and bump-steer behavior that we are experiencing. This appears to be particularly common among GT-Line models. The consistency of these reports suggests this is a systemic defect affecting multiple vehicles, not an isolated incident with our particular vehicle. We have 11k miles on the vehicle now and this has been consistently happening since 200-300 miles brand new. We've mentioned to a dealer but it is very difficult to reproduce as it seems to happen randomly, even over the same stretch of rough road.

1. When I go over bumps, the car behaves as if it's about to lose control. It porpoises and at one point it feels like you're about to lose control of the vehicle. 2. We have taken the vehicle to the dealer 3+ times now for the same issue. They claim that it's a glitch in the suspension but there is no know fix. At 55+MPH the vehicle starts vibrating and is completely different than issue number 1 above. They've tried balancing the tires but it has not been Successful. We're hoping to claim the car and Lemon through WI.

When traveling at highway speeds the rear suspension is not capable of handling road imperfections. When a pot hole or other disturbance occurs, the rear end of the vehicle violently porpoises and swing back and forth. This is made even more obvious when taking a long sweeping curves at 55 plus. It causes the entire chassis to become very upset. I have never had a car do this.

when driving this car at highway speeds, if you hit any sort of obstacle, you are going to experience an extreme amount of sloshing in the back of your car. This same experience occurs when you are going down a hill, around a bend, and hit a pothole or any sort of irregularities in the road surface. When this sloshing occurs, it feels as though the back end of the car is going to whip around, causing you go to into an uncontrolled spin. To put this into perspective, I had to replace my rear tires after 10,000 miles because of how much wear this sloshing introduced to the tires - my front tiers were still at 7/32nds for reference. And we don't drive this think like a bat out of hell... At 10k miles, the alignment was also way out of whack (which the dealer admitted shouldn't have happened with so few miles on it), because of the extreme movements of the car from side to side. This phenomenon is well documented among the KIA owners forums and my dealer refuses to believe it's an issue.

Vehicle experiences steering vibration when at highway speeds (above 65mph). I have brought the vehicle in for service four times and the issue still returned after multiple alignments, rotations, and road force balances. The local service techs are working with Kia, but it has currently been in the shop for 24 days with no resolution. According to the service advisor, tires have been inspected and even swapped with new ones but the problem is still present. I am concerned with the safety of the vehicle because it creates issues with control at high speeds which could result in an accident. Even at low speeds, the rear end fishtails over small bumps creating a temporary loss of control. I am unsure if the two are related. I can provide Kia service order numbers and Kia customer care case number upon request. Multiple other owners have experienced the same concerns and have posted a growing number of instances where the vehicle was purchased back by Kia as a result.

Since taking delivery of the vehicle I noticed the vehicle "hops around" when encountering irregularities in the road. The vehicle feels unsettled over seams, bumps, or uneven surfaces, even minor ones like raised seams or potholes. This happens both while driving straight and through corners, with the rear end feeling like it's skipping, hopping, or "porpoising." The issue is most noticeable at highway speeds.

In particular it appears to happen when driving over a bump while also driving at a slight left or right angle. After the bump the back end will oscillate laterally. This is extremely concerning to the driver and passengers, it can feel like the car is going to bounce out of its lane.

I am experiencing significant and persistent vibrations at highway speeds (60-?"75 mph) in my 2024 Kia EV9. Despite multiple dealership visits and repair attempts, the issue remains unresolved. The vibrations cause noticeable discomfort and potential safety risks, especially on long drives. Timeline of Events & Repairs: 1.First Visit to Kia dealer (Dec 24): The dealership performed a tire balance and determined one tire was defective, replacing it. Vibrations persisted. 2.Second Visit (Jan 25) The dealership replaced the remaining 3 tires 3. ThirdVisit (Feb 25): The dealership identified three wheels with lateral runout and replaced them. They also performed road force balancing, reportedly bringing all values below 16. 4.Test Drive (Feb 25): After picking up my vehicle, I drove on the interstate and found the vibrations had worsened, now starting at 60 mph instead of 70 mph. -??A third-party wheel shop inspected the wheels and found the fourth wheel (not replaced by Kia) was defective and out of round. 5.Dealership-??s Response: Despite these findings, Kia dealer dismissed my concerns and referred me to another dealership for a second opinion. They also stated that third-party evaluations are not accepted, creating an endless loop where I cannot get the issue properly addressed. Safety Concerns: -??Vibrations impact vehicle stability and driver comfort, especially on long trips. -??Extended driving with excessive vibrations may lead to fatigue, reduced control, and premature mechanical wear. -??The fact that multiple components (wheels, tires) have required replacement raises concerns about a potential manufacturing defect affecting Kia EV9 models. Request for Investigation: The dealership has failed to resolve this issue despite multiple repair attempts, and their refusal to acknowledge third-party findings leaves me with no clear resolution path. I request that NHTSA investigate potential defects in the wheels, tires, or drivetrain system of the Kia EV9.

When you're at speeds greater than 15mph and hit a bump or encounter a surface irregularity (pothole, expansion joint, etc.), the Kia EV9 GT Line goes into a porpoising sway, causing the entire chassis to become unsettled. The swaying is much more pronounced when only one side of the encounters the irregularity, or if the car is not perfectly perpendicular to the irregularity and the left and right wheels pass over the irregularity at different times. The effect is especially noticeable in the rear. This unsettling 'swaying' increases with speed and happens both while driving straight and through corners. The rear end feels as though it's hopping or skipping from side to side. Out of all the vehicles I-??ve driven-?"and I-??ve driven quite a few-?"I-??ve never experienced anything like this. During wet and slippery conditions, driving over small bumps or manhole covers has even caused the vehicle to lose traction and begin spinning - even while traveling at 25mph in a straight line. I purchased the EV9 in early 2024 and it has had the issue since delivery. I have heard many other EV9 GT Line owners complain of similar suspension issues and I am frankly surprised that there has not been a string of crashes and fatalities linked to the issue. I have spoken to the Kia dealership several times but because the vehicle is new they claim that they have not heard any other reports and they do not have the experience to diagnose or fix the issue.

Vehicle suspension experiences rear end swaying at speed when encountering rough or uneven road surfaces. Vehicle is available upon request. Rear 2 rows experience it more than front but requires driver to be mindful of steering to maintain control of vehicle. Dealer replicated swaying on vehicle and new 1 off the lot on 11/11/2024 per service invoice. Dealer service department test drove, rebalanced all tires, performed alignment, 8k service, and has performed 4 multi-point inspections since purchase in July 2025. When driving over uneven surfaces, like typical urban and suburban roads and highways, the rear end seems so wobble and slide. It feels like the heavy EV is about to break traction and slide sideways. It porpoises as well. It makes every passengers heart skip a beat. These are on dry roads, obeying speed limits, with the stock tires. An expansion joint, seam of two types of road material, utility cover or other irregularities can cause this. Easily reproduced but dealers or Kia America don-??t seem to believe or care.

The Kia EV9 has a defect in its suspension that causes the rear end to "bump-steer" over imperfections in the road, giving the driver a scary sensation of losing control. For example, driving on the highway in a corner, if you hit an expansion joint or pothole, the vehicle will require a quick steering correction while the vehicle's rear-end enters what feels like an oversteer condition. This reduces confidence in the vehicle's ability to hold the road. In poor weather like snow, it's impossible to discern whether the vehicle's rear end is sliding, or if it's the bump-steer condition occurring. My wife refuses to drive the car in inclement weather, despite the vehicle being fitted with snow tires. It is a very scary feeling. Kia has yet to issue a TSB for this on 2024 and 2025 model year vehicles, and it seems that all trim levels are affected after discussing with the community on forums. Even after dialing in the alignment perfectly to manufacturer specifications, the issue does not resolve.

We've had the vehicle for about six months as my wife's primary car. within the first week of driving the vehicle, she noticed it "hops around" when encountering irregularities in the road surface at highway speeds. After driving it myself, I agree-?"the vehicle gets unsettled while driving over seams, bumps, or uneven surfaces, even minor ones like raised seams or potholes. This happens and is most noticebale at highway speeds, both while driving straight and through corners, with the rear end feeling like it's skipping, hopping, or "porpoising." Even with small irregulairities in the road the vehicle lightly sways. Tire pressure is set to manufacturer specifications, and there's no noticeable irregular or excessive wear on the tires. When I have spoken to the dealership about this, they cliam that it's perfectly normal becuase it's a heavy vehicle (referencing a 3/4 ton pickup). This does not inspire confidence in dirving the vehicle and is likely to cause an accident.

At highway speeds, the SUV experiences significant body sway when hitting a bump, causing it to rock side to side in an unsettling manner. This issue makes the vehicle feel unstable and nervous, requiring the driver to slow down to regain control. The excessive body roll presents a potential safety hazard, as it could lead to a loss of control in certain conditions. Based on my research, this problem appears to affect the GT-Line model more than others. A solution is urgently needed to address this serious handling issue, but so far, Kia Corporation has done nothing to resolve it.

The manufacturer failed to align the vehicle at all prior to leaving the factory. The failed parts all have to do with the alignment. My safety was put at risk because of the persistent pull while driving, shaking while driving, instability at high speeds, and the fact that the tires are now damaged due to the alignment issues. The dealer kept the vehicle for over 60 days, and was able to rectify part of the alignment issues, but there are still areas that they are unable or unwilling to fix, as shown to them by the alignment machine. The vehicle has been inspect by a certified Kia dealership, as it was there for over 60 days. The issues were the shaking of the vehicle, the pull, the instability at high speeds, and the damage caused to the tires. It appear upon first taking the car home after purchase. I was forced to pick up my vehicle because Kia was unwilling to fix the vehicle, and they threatened me with storage fees.
