The contact stated that the low tire pressure sensor warning lamp illuminated and when she attempted to put air in the rear passenger side tire, the valve stem fractured. The contact mentioned that in a different occasion, the rear driver tire valve stem fractured and the sensor punctured the side wall of the tire. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic. The technician verified the failure and stated that the valve stem and sensor needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was repaired. The failure mileage was 28,000 and the current mileage was 31,000.
