My 2.0L GDI engine developed a clacking sound and I have been told I need a new engine. It seems to be the same issue as the other Kia models with this same engine that have had their engines recalled. Yet Kia does not include the Forte in the recall, even though it is the same engine.

I started trying in 2015 or 2016 to have my engine replaced and compensated for the purchase of both engines for the two Kia's I bought brand new when the engines went out on both of the cars weeks apart. Please can anyone help me with this situation, as I am at my wits end to be compensated for something that should have been taken care of the first time I reported their engines going out on two cars bought the very same day. Also on the Kia ending in VIN # 9225, it sat at the dealership for almost two years before I could even afford to have the motor replaced for it and the other one a little later. At the very least that can be verified, that I was paying on cars that weren't even running and just sitting until I could afford to replace the motors. I was on my way home from work when the engine light came on and the car started to just not want to move anymore. I barely made it home and eventually took it to Kia and was told the engine went out. I can only give an approximate date from the email of when I inquired about the motors later on when I could afford to have them replaced. I will have to get a copy of the receipt for the motor replacement of one of the Kia's from my daughter. I was told to contact Kia to verify the motors were replaced, but they wanted to charge me and I can't afford the amount for either of the cars to verify engine replacement on the cars. The repair shop that replaced the motors is no longer in business and the phone numbers are no longer associated with the business even though they still show as being open. I have emailed and contacted the information on the business's site, but no response at all. Please can someone help me with Kia in assisting with this matter as it should have been taken care of the very first time I called to report to the issue. Thank you for any assistance you can give

While driving the vehicle in June 2020, the engine started knocking loudly and caused the vehicle to vibrate so I shut off the vehicle. After being towed, the mechanic stated the rod blew through the block and knocked out the starter. The engine needs a full replacement and based on my mechanics review this would not have happened had the 12/2020 recall been conducted more timely. The Kia recall # stated Kia dealership would pick up the vehicle & inspect for free. The dealership has refused to work with me or my mechanic, advised it would not be covered based on being out of warranty and avoids explaining why it isn-??t covered or what the actual recall is (they will only state the name of the recall, not why or the details).

I own a 2014 KIA Forte and was hearing a ticking / knocking when I drive. ?I dropped it off at service station Milton to be looked at. ?The next day 4/1/21 I got a from them and he notified me that my engine is under 2 recalls by KIA and needs to be replaced. ?He recommended that I have it towed there due to it not being safe to drive. ?He spoke with KIA to let them know it was on the way with the reason of the engine recall. I have a Certified 2014 Kia Forte with 115,000 miles and I have had the car 5 1/2 years. I also have an Extended Warranty for 8 years AND 150,000 miles which I am in the clear of. Kia American is refusing to fix my vehicle. Main reason is because I am a secondary owner. That is not what is says on my agreement and warranty paperwork. They are still refusing to fix and cover the recall.

I received a recall letter stating that my car is part of a recall involving a defect in the engine that could cause an engine compartment fire and increases the risk of injury. I took my car to the dealership to address the recall. The mechanics at the dealership stated that my vehicle would need a new engine and that the engine will fail. Kia manufacturer is refusing to replace the engine even after their mechanics have told me countless times I have brought the car in that it needs a new engine. I have had to bring my car to and from the dealership 3-4 times now in the last 3 weeks after my check engine light keeps turning on and flashing continuously and my car won't accelerate like normal and will not drive past 40 mph. I have to floor the gas pedal just to move the car. Before I received this recall letter and took my car in to get looked at, I had no issues with my car accelerating and have never had a check engine light but now all of a sudden my car doesn't drive. The dealership damaged my car and are denying any wrongdoing. This is extremely dangerous to have my car in this condition I'm not willing to risk my family's safety or my own safety because the dealership won't take responsibility and the manufacturer won't go through with the repairs that need to be done for safety reasons and replace my engine. The manufacturer is not listening to their mechanics that have told me the engine is guaranteed to fail. My vehicle is not drivable and Kia will not do anything to fix the problem. I have no reliable transportation and the dealership will not give me a loaner car to drive for the time either.

An engine fire recall has already been issued relating to fuel and oil leaks for my vehicle. On two occasions I've taken my car in for repair service to their first Kia dealership in simi valley ca, and both times they've refused to complete repairs, saying the manufacturer's repair servers were down and inaccessible for the necessary service. On the most recent appointment (April 9), the service rep told me he'd give me a call once the repair system was back online, but that call never happened. Kia has not replied to my requests regarding this impairment of theirs. Meanwhile my car is burning through 1-3 quarts of oil a week, those gallons of oil loss have already cost me one contaminated catalytic converter, and I lack the work flexibility to continue scheduling fruitless repair visits. My car has a flaw that this recall should fix, but between the dealership and the manufacturer there has been an inability to provide that repair. The ongoing pursuit of those solutions has left me at risk of losing work should this nonsense continue- much of my scheduling flexibility has been exhausted.

This happened back in June of 2019. I left work normally and not even 2 minutes down the road, my car started struggling to move forward. It was bucking and could not accelerate, but still trying to go forward. Then suddenly it started making a very loud tapping noise, still bucking and then a large pop and the car stopped moving since it died in the middle of the road. This all happened within a matter of seconds. Smoke started seeping out of the hood of my car. I had no lights on in my car on my dashboard. I always had free regular maintenance(oil etc.) done at my Kia dealership. I obviously had to have it towed and got it to the dealership so they could look at it in the morning. They said they didn't know why, but my entire engine had just blown out for no reason. My car was only at 87,000 miles and it was just totalled. I wasn't worried initially because I paid extra for the warranty to fix any major problems like this, however I came to find out the warranty refused to cover the entire cost to replace the price of a new engine in my vehicle and on top of that, when the engine blew it killed the computer in my car, and the dealership also strongly advised I replaced several other things on the vehicle. I'd have to pull out my receipts to give you all an exact amount but we paid at least $5,000 - $10,000 out of pocket for the engine and computer alone. Today is May 8th, 2021, almost 2 years later and I just happened to be on kelley blue book trying to see what I can sell my garbage Kia for. I happened to enter my VIN into the recall checker and I could not believe my eyes, engine recall issued late 2020. I have not been notified by anybody about this and probably would have never been told seeming as they already basically stole my money from me 2 years ago. I am really hoping you can help me resolve this and more than happy to provide anything you need.
