The contact's mother owns a 2014 Kia Forte. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the vehicle made an abnormal cranking sound. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact had taken the vehicle to an independent mechanic who discovered that the oil level was extremely low. The mechanic also mentioned that the vehicle was consuming oil internally however, there were no signs of any leaks in the vehicle. The mechanic also mentioned that the excessive oil burning had caused damage to the catalytic converter. The contact then took the vehicle to Kia mall of Georgia (4180 buford dr, buford, ga 30519) where they confirmed damage to the catalytic converter. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The contact was informed that the VIN was not under recall and that the vehicle was no longer under warranty. No further assistance was provided. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The failure mileage was unknown.

My cars check engine light came on and then recently my low oil light indicator has been flashing. We checked the oil and it is fine. Then on April 19 while driving down the road and my car completely stalled out and I had to steer to the side of the road to safety. I looked and all the lights are light up on the dash, I placed the car in park, turned the car off and waited a few minutes, and turned the car back on. I made it home safely. Now the engine is making a funny tapping noise. I had surgery so I was leaving to go to a doctors appointment today, started the car, and was backing out of my parking space and my car stalled out. I repeated the process of putting park, waiting a few minutes and turning it back on, but was too afraid to drive so I missed my appointment and researched 2014 Kia Forte. There came up an article about there being a recall on those cars. When reading and investigating further my car is doing exactly what the recall states. Check engine light eliminated, low oil light, car stalling, and engine making noise. They state to call Kia with the recall SC200 about this recall because of the risk of fire and death. I call my local Kia dealership they tell me it's not under the recall and they tell me they can't look at the car for the recall because it's not included. So I called Kia customer service. Explain to the girl what is happening and she tells me that there is nothing they can do and can't check it for the recall because the VIN isn't included. I now have a car I am afraid to drive due to the risk of it catching on fire or being in an accident because it stalling out. The recall states 2014-2015 Kia Fortes and Fortes koups. I have a 2014 Kia Forte that is exhibiting all the signs under the recall, but according to Kia I'm not included.

I received a recall letter for my engine telling me to bring in my vehicle in to have it checked out to be inspected and if necessary, repaired or replaced at no cost. My check engine light came on shortly after receiving this letter which prompted me to bring my vehicle in to van nuys Kia. Long story short my service advisor came back eventually, telling me that Kia declined my claim for having too many miles and also that I would be charged for bringing in the vehicle, even though the letter explicitly said would not be. My main problem here is that another customer, with the exact same car, 2014 Forte, took his car in with over 200,000 thousand miles and got it replaced with no problem. No mention about mileage or anything but the main reason I was declined was for having 170,000 miles when the cut off was at 150,000 and I have to pay around 7,000 to have it fixed. The recall letter mentions nothing about not being allowed to bring the vehicle in after 150,000 and even if it did, does Kia get to pick and choose who they help?

My car 2014 Kia Forte ex 2.0L gdi engine was under recall. Took car to dealership for recall and dealership said nothing wrong with it. On the way home from there the car went into limp mode and check engine light came on with engine code P1326 which is due to rod bearings. (which is exactly what this recall was for! ) I want this engine replaced just as the recall states!

At approximately 100K miles in 2018 car began consuming what I deemed more than normal oil between 4000 mile service intervals as well as began a slight knocking sound. Kia dealership attributed this to 100K miles and normal engine wear. Knocking went from slight irritation to something is seriously wrong in the summer of 2021 at 155K. Had vehicle towed to my local Kia dealership for inspection where they informed me the engine was shot and needed replacement for around $7500. Took the car back home via tow truck as I did not have that kind of money for a car I had just paid off finally. Did research which led me to believe Kia had some known engine issue directly related to what this seemed to be and it was believed they would issue a recall. Held onto car until recall was issued and again had it towed to dealership. Dealer immediately informed me that I did not qualify for the recall repair as I was 5K miles over the limits for said recall SC200. My reading of the recall stated they would do repair up to and including engine replacement and warrant work for 15 years or 150K miles which ever came first. They stated this was limit for repair and not warranty. Contacted Kia Consumer Affairs and have been getting the run around for 3 months now as to whether or not they are going to repair my vehicle. I feel at this point I am fighting a losing battle for known issue and Kia has lost a customer for life as I wish I had not purchased the one I have now if I had known they were not going to stand behind their product. Out of the roughly 300K vehicles I doubt many will meet this criteria if that is indeed what it is so they will look good in saying they are recalling and fixing when in reality they are not fixing many at all.

My vehicle began ticking and emitting large clouds of smoke from the exhaust. I received a letter advising me that my vehicle is included in a safety recall. I took it to ed voyles Kia in chamblee, ga and was told the issues are not related to the recall. I find this difficult to believe. The car has appox 150,000 miles. I do not feel safe driving it based on the fact that other affected vehicles have had engine compartment fires and that the cause of the fires has not been identified. If the cause has not been identified, how can they rule out my vehicle? I am super concerned and feel that my health and well being is not valued. Please help me.

I have been trying relentlessly to get my car in for the recent recall since February 15, 2021. I have made 3 appointments over the span of a month and every single time it was rescheduled. They are refusing to repair the recall on my car. This is a serious issue with the car and I do not feel safe driving while there's a recall for a possible engine fire.

Kia Forte is burning oil, bought car to mechanic to try and locate a leak, and fix what issue the car may be having. A few days after I bought the car to the mechanics which the gdi and PCV valve was changed and/or repaired. He noted that the spark plugs were fouled with oil, and that he could not tell where a leak was occuring or why the engine is burning so much oil. After the car was in the shop we received a letter in the mail stating that Kia was having a recall on our vehicle. Recall number 20V750 - which pertained to the issue I am having with my vehicle, I then contacted Kia and scheduled an appointment, which Kia could not hold due to their servers being down, had to reschedule, rescheduled a second appointment, which was not held due to the servers being down still. Finally received a call a few days later that the servers were up and if I would like to schedule, in which did for Monday March 1st 2021. When leaving the car at Kia all star in denham springs, la the engine was tapping some but shallow, when I spoke to Kia they stated that the recall my car was going in for was for the update on the knock sensor detection system, in which I was never sent the second letter as promised that the update was available in the recall letter of the original recall I am contacting you about. When I picked up my car it did not seem the same, or sound the same, and as a couple days went by the engine was sounding rougher and louder, checked my oil and had to add more oil to the car and the issue of missing oil is still happening. I called Kia consumers and spoke to a jason to file a complaint and the displeased with the services that I did not receive and the lack of urgency in the recall issues pertaining to my vehicle.

The contact owns a 2014 Kia Forte. The contact stated that while driving at 30 mph, he heard a knocking noise coming from the engine and a burning fuel odor was detected. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was first taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed with damages connecting rods. Rods that connects the piston to the crankshaft from the bottom part of the engine. The mechanic contacted the Kia manufacturer for support and was informed there would be a recall from NHTSA coming out soon relating to the failure. The contact stated he received a recall notification with NHTSA campaign number: 20V750000 (engine) and that was the failure the vehicle experienced. The vehicle was then taken to hansen Kia ( 2300 carriage loop sw, olympia, wa 98502) for a recall inspection but was informed that the failure was the top part of the engine and not related to the recall so the recall repair was denied. The vehicle was later taken back to the independent mechanic and the failure again was diagnosed as the bottom part of the engine that had a broken rod bearing relating to the recall. The contact informed the Kia dealer of the independent mechanic's diagnostic and provided photo evidence but was again denied the recall repair. The contact stated that the recall for the vehicle was no longer showing on VIN tool when he searched it using his VIN after the dealer performed the recall inspection, the manufacturer was informed of the failure but offered no assistance. The failure mileage was 50,800.

My 2014 Kia Forte with a 1.8 L engine randomly stall and lost all power while driving. Oil emergency light comes on. We took our 2014 Kia Forte to our mechanic. They drained the oil and found metal shavings in the oil panel and said we need an engine replacement. We took our vehicle then to our local Kia dealership and they said our rod bearings are scraping causing the metal shavings. Our Kia Forte has 112,000 miles and is out of warranty and Kia said we have to pay out of pocket to replace the engine. We believe that this should be covered by an extended warranty due to the class action settlement against Kia.

On 2/19/2021 I was driving on the hwy and the car was losing power. I don't drive it that much so wasn't sure if it was just me. But as I pulled into a drive thru and was coming to a stop, the car was idling a little rough and the engine was ticking and lightly knocking. Also here is a list of continuing issues that we have had over the years since we bought the car brand new with like 12 miles on it. The rear passenger window has never worked. The radio bluetooth always had connectivity issues. Then the tire pressure warning light appeared and is still on. The tire shop said it might be a defective tire sensor back passenger. The airbag light is always on now. Then the radio antenna fell off the roof, I glued it back on. Recently the buttons on the steering wheel have not been functioning properly, or not at all. And the driver window button does whatever it wants to do, sometimes it will work with some light finesse.
