I bought a brand new 2014 Kia Forte EX in April 2014. I also co-signed for my son a brand new Kia Forte LX the same day. I was coming home from work and the car just started to go slow. It had no pick up whatsoever. I called the dealership and had it towed to them. They promptly said entire failure due to sludge in the engine. A car less than two years old with sludge in the engine. Then a few months later my son's car had the same issue and was told the same thing, engine failure due to sludge in the engine. Oil changes were made, some at Kia, but either by my son or places around my home for both cars. Of course they refused to honor the warranty and for the last year and a half I have rode buses and received rides to work from friends and family. The cost is over 7000 grand per car of which I am still paying on. Neither me or my son has 7000 grand a piece for a new motor. That is the price of a new car just about.
I will never buy another Kia and have made it my mission to persuade others as well to not buy one either. To date, I personally have stopped five others from making the mistake I made with a company who refuses to say engine problems are their fault due to their mistake when making the engines.
